several weeks ago i had a very annoying problem with signing in. i knew the solution. it was very very easy. everyone kept talking about the ip address and some other solutions.

one solution was the answer. try signing in with a different console. thats what solved my problem. i signed in with my friends ps3 and then returned home to desperately try. and here it went. it signed in perfectly. turned off the ps3 then tried again and it was solved. mystery solved and i think the one to blame is psn.

The problem was most likely a server problem that was fixed when you logged into PSN on another PS3. You could have waited and logged in on your PS3 once the servers were back up.
