Recently I have been looking into getting a PS3. I have a Wii already, but I'm starting to lose interest. I have been really eyeing the 80gb model. I really like the big harddrive, and media card support. If I go for the 40gb model, it only has 2 usb ports. However, I don't really think I need the 4 usb ports. But, if for some reason I do, can I get a USB hub for it? And which usb hubs do you recomend?

It doesn't seem like someone has mentioned it yet, but firstly, you probably don't need four usb ports... That said, having a hub is not the same as having 4 usb ports. It's like the difference between having another wall outlet in your room or using an extension cord. Check out the Wikipedia article on USB hubs. Here is the relevant part:
A bus-powered hub is a hub that draws all its power from the host computer's USB interface. It does not need a separate power connection. However, many devices require more power than this method can provide, and will not work in this type of hub.
In contrast a self-powered hub is one that takes its power from an external power supply unit and can therefore provide full power to every port. Many hubs can operate as either bus powered or self powered hubs.
With PCs and CD/DVD writers, some manuals suggest that you plug them directly to the PC and not through a hub to avoid errors during writing. Could something coming out for the PS3 some day need to be connected directly? Not sure...honestly, probably not...but just wanted to point out that getting a hub is not the same as getting 4 ports. And the older PS3s also had memory card slots if you want to transfer photos to your PS3...
