I've been reluctant to getting one becuase Im not made of money but its smarter investing money into something that will last me. Soo... I got a few questions.

1. What exactly is "6 axis" I know its some function with the controller but thats it.

2. How much hard drive space will I need? Will 80gb be enough with mandatory downloads?

3. How is online multiplayer? I know its free so is there a drop in quality? Does it lag alot?

4. GAMES! So far I'll be getting Killzone 2, Little Big Planet, Motorstorm Pacific Rift and Uncharted Drakes Fortune. What else is good? I like shooters, sports games, and racing games.

All controllers have it i believe, few games use it but one that completely depends on it is Flower.

Add Metal Gear Solid 4 to your list. I would get that and Killzone 2 first and foremost. Both Resistance games are great too!! 80 GB is plenty, but I would to ahead for the 160 GB pack because it comes with Uncharted and a Dualshock 3 so you'll get rumble. Trust me, it is worth the extra 100 dollars and Uncharted is an epic game. I have never had lag on the PSN.

yeah, i would stick to the official controllers, because youre bound to come across a PS3 game that utilizes the sixaxis at least a little bit. killzone 2 uses it in the campaign a total of like ten times, and its really not too bad once you get the hang of it. COD3 used it wayyy too much and it was SOOO terrible it made me hate the entire game.

the 80gig PS3 will be fine, i have the bigger one, but idk why i was convinced to buy it, because the downloadable content never takes much space.

idk of many really good PS3 exclusives but Bad Company, Metal Gear, and Killzone are simply must have shooters.

And yes, the online play is free, and it works brilliantly. i personally love my PS3 and would not trade it for an xbox for anything. free online play, fun games, and a system with a TON of potential (just take a look at Killzone and MAG later this year)

hope that answers most of your questions.

2. 80gigs is enough, but If you put a lot of movies and music you can always upgrade too 250.

3.The quality is good, but not to many people use mics, and you only lag if you have terrible connection (I dont lag).

4. Get Resistance 2, Bioshock, Call of duty 4/ world at war.

1. Motion censor

2. Get an 80gig and you can always upgrade the hard drive, any 2.5" SATA drive. You can get a 320 gig drive for around $70.

3. I'd say the only difference is features like cross game chat, fewer people using headset, all in all though I prefer PSN it's free and for me, less lag although this is just my opinion.

4. MLB 09 The Show is a must!! Keep an eye on MAG, 256 people in 1 match should be great if they pull it off.

1. It's a motion sensor thing, much like those Wii remotes except it's not as good... Sinceyou like racing games it could be used as a steering wheel which is pretty nice (although it is a bit too sensitive and you'll be making donuts all day) 2. 80GB is pretty good, the xbox comes with a 60 GB. Plus if you really need extra room you can always replace the stock harddrive and install in a new one. 3. Online is great, no lag. (If you have Dial Up, you'd lag on any console) Only downside about the PSN is that not much people have mics. I had to buy mine (bluetooth headset which came with SOCOM).

1. sixaxis is motion sensing. a few games use it. ps3 games dont use motion like the wii. its just complementing the controls. 2. 80gb is enough. if you want to download movies and such, it still should be fine, but you can get a 500gb hard drive for $100 IIRC 3. PSN is actually less laggy than XBL. each game uses dedicated servers, so if one person lags, everyone else wont. the online is pretty much the same. XBL gets a few more DLC's but im sure you can live without it. 4. if you like shooters, check out resistance 2. it's very underrated. racing, try out burnout paradise. very cheap and you get so much for your money. for sports, i suggest MLB 09 the show.

I find the 80gb is big enough for now. However as a few have stated, you can always get a bigger HD later (it's just a laptop HD anyways). Online play is fine from my limited experience (Rockband2, LBP, GT5, Resistanceand DC VS MK).

Don't forget that with the PS3 you are getting an entertainment unit not just a gaming console. You can put pictures (slideshows) on it, music, videos, download games, demos, PSN shows, surf the net, and play Blu-ray movies.

In terms of online, its much better than a 360. There is hardly ever lag if you get good games like any of the cod's.

Just thought id add a few more good PS3 exclusives to those already mentioned.

- Uncharted 2 looks amazing (coming this november)

- Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction is a great game

- Ratchet and Clank: Quest For Booty is a fun (though short) PSN game.

- Heavenly Sword is a fun God of War clone

- God of War 3 will likely be out March 2010 or earlier.

- Metal Gear Solid 4 is a must have!

- Fat Princess looks like it will be a great PSN game.

- PixelJunk Monsters(tower defence) and PixelJunk Eden are amazing PSN games

- PixelJunk 1-4(title in progress) looks like it will be another great PSN game.

- etc.

It is probably coming out in 2010. I don't see the point in getting the 80 GB and then upgrading for 70 dollars when he can get the 160 GB one which comes with one of the games he is going to buy anyways. You won't need more than 160GB....ever, unless you go video crazy
