So my 360 broke recently(rrod) and I got it fixed and it broke, again. So Im done feeding all my money to microsoft so Ive decided to get a reliable piece of hardware, a PS3. I've been reluctant to getting one becuase Im not made of money but its smarter investing money into something that will last me. Soo... I got a few questions.
1. What exactly is "6 axis" I know its some function with the controller but thats it.
2. How much hard drive space will I need? Will 80gb be enough with mandatory downloads?
3. How is online multiplayer? I know its free so is there a drop in quality? Does it lag alot?
4. GAMES! So far I'll be getting Killzone 2, Little Big Planet, Motorstorm Pacific Rift and Uncharted Drakes Fortune. What else is good? I like shooters, sports games, and racing games.

1. Motion censor
2. Get an 80gig and you can always upgrade the hard drive, any 2.5" SATA drive. You can get a 320 gig drive for around $70.
3. I'd say the only difference is features like cross game chat, fewer people using headset, all in all though I prefer PSN it's free and for me, less lag although this is just my opinion.
4. MLB 09 The Show is a must!! Keep an eye on MAG, 256 people in 1 match should be great if they pull it off.
yeah, i would stick to the official controllers, because youre bound to come across a PS3 game that utilizes the sixaxis at least a little bit. killzone 2 uses it in the campaign a total of like ten times, and its really not too bad once you get the hang of it. COD3 used it wayyy too much and it was SOOO terrible it made me hate the entire game.
the 80gig PS3 will be fine, i have the bigger one, but idk why i was convinced to buy it, because the downloadable content never takes much space.
idk of many really good PS3 exclusives but Bad Company, Metal Gear, and Killzone are simply must have shooters.
And yes, the online play is free, and it works brilliantly. i personally love my PS3 and would not trade it for an xbox for anything. free online play, fun games, and a system with a TON of potential (just take a look at Killzone and MAG later this year)
hope that answers most of your questions.
