I'm in the process of getting a PS3 and well I'm a veteran to the Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii. I sadly don't know what to get for the PS3 to make it tick right. I'm looking at the 80 Gig one right now that comes with MGS 4. I also planned on getting The Dark Knight Blu-Ray(December 9th) and Band of Brothers(Mid-November). I also planned on getting the new Socom(especially after I read the chance at 256 player battles). So if you guys could give me a little guide and your opinions, that would be greatly appreciated(also let me know how I did on the games and movies.)

Do it man, the 80GB is a good model and MGS4 is a stunning game. The Dark Knight will also no doubt look awesome in blu-ray, and Socom is a good choice because it comes with the official Playstation bluetooth headset.

It's kinda hard to follow-up on most up the responses that where given because they where all pretty good...well at least covering the gaming aspect of the ps3. The multimedia function are a different story...of course you know about the upgradable hdd,built-in wireless adapter and bluray function. Basicly, with the ps3 you can clear-off your entertainment center shelves(not your 360 &Wii)other eletronic devices. I just upgraded my 60g to 250...I have about 50g of video...5g of mp3's and 2g of pictures. The most import thing though is keeping the ps3 well ventilated to prevent freezing....other than that man, your good.

Also the biggest thing which you need is a HD TV and a HDMI cable (however I am sure you know that already)
