Ok, since my xbox 360 broke I decided to I had to look for a new console. I am not buying a new one, cz I stopped trusting MS:p. Well I was going for a Wii but PS3 got my attection. While like an ex-xbox fanboy I was finding PS3 to expensive, but if you think that comes with those card readers, full blue-ray and Wi-Fi I think its a deal :P. Before I begin saving for it(got 350 out of 700...) and stop thinking about Wii i will like to ask some questions to PS3 owners.

1) Ok, PS3 controler looks good now with the trigers, instead of the classical R2, L2. Does it work well in shooters? or 360 is better? Also it has something like a motion sensing system, how does it feels?

2) Wi-Fi comes with all PS3? and is it a plug-in device like 360 wi-fi? or its in the console?

3) All my PS2 games will work(ofc I will update the PS3 to its newest version)? if so does it worth buying God of war series for my old PS2? and it will work on PS3 right?

4) Does PS3 got any overheating problems?

5) Any other problems similar to XBOX 3-Red Lights?

6) What games are a must(perfer to say one or two only, cz only 2 i will be able to buy:P) until end of july? what up-coming games are worth(lair and warhawk looks good)? Generally what AAA do PS3 got?

7) Online multiplayer does it has lag? and you can download demos and etc from PSN?

8) I heard you can install PS2 games is it true? and if so, you can play them from HDD without the disc on right?

9) Any other comments about PS3? or what else I need to know before getting one?

10) The most importand of all:P, is FF7 really coming out for PS3??? as a remake?

While I found some answers on other pages, I perfer to get answers from PS3 owners(trust the more than Sony webpage:P) to decide if it's worth keeping money for one or two months to get a PS3 or simple go to store tommorow for a wii.

1. It's better than dual shock 2

2. 60gb version has wifi and 20 gb doesn't

3. like 97% of ps2 libary will work on the ps3, I have alot of games and the only game that doesn't work is "ready to rumble"

4. No, no over heating problem just need to keep it in a well vent area.

5. No, ps3 is built to last

6. Resistance, lair, warhawk ect you do Homework on that

7. Resitance 40 player and no lag. Yes, with background DL

8. only game I know is FFXI, and you have to DL a ps2 file on the PSN to make it work, and it's all free.

9. buy HDTV with HDMI and get an HDMI cable for full potentail of the games, upscale your ps1 and ps2 games and DVD movie to HD

10. No I think

1) Ok, PS3 controler looks good now with the trigers, instead of the classical R2, L2. Does it work well in shooters? or 360 is better? Also it has something like a motion sensing system, how does it feels? The R2 and L2 still aren't good for shooters. They are kinda mushy. So they mimic gas and brake pedals more then anything. Ps3 shooters use R1 and L2 to fire.

2) Wi-Fi comes with all PS3? and is it a plug-in device like 360 wi-fi? or its in the console? 60 gig models come with wifi built into the system. No external device.

3) All my PS2 games will work(ofc I will update the PS3 to its newest version)? if so does it worth buying God of war series for my old PS2? and it will work on PS3 right? 98% compat but can't promise all of them will work. Yes both god of war games will work on your ps3. They will also look better on your ps3 then your ps2 with "smoothing" turned on.

4) Does PS3 got any overheating problems? Absolutely not.

5) Any other problems similar to XBOX 3-Red Lights? Some people have reported lemons here and there. But I think the failure rate is really 3% or under. Not MS's 3% which really means 30% to 50%. Yeah, I got the 3 red lights too after 8 months...

6) What games are a must(perfer to say one or two only, cz only 2 i will be able to buy:P) until end of july? what up-coming games are worth(lair and warhawk looks good)? Generally what AAA do PS3 got? Resistance, Ninja Gaiden sigma, Darkness, Motorstorm and Rainbow 6 are probably the best games to come out before the end of July. After that Warhawk (which is very good if you dig multiplayer), Lair, Heavenly Sword, Rachet & Clank, Folklore, Haze, Socom, Eye of Judgement, Littlebigplanet, Uncharted (which is suppose to be killer), KillZone 2 are all suppose to hit before the end of the year. I'm sure I've missed some too.

7) Online multiplayer does it has lag? and you can download demos and etc from PSN? Sony released titles have little or no lag. I've played Resistance and Warhawk beta. Both have fantastic online. I can't speak for 3rd party games. Haven't played any online.

8) I heard you can install PS2 games is it true? and if so, you can play them from HDD without the disc on right? Nope, only game saves are stored on the ps3 harddrive.

9) Any other comments about PS3? or what else I need to know before getting one? Fantastic system overall. You can feel the quality oozing out of it. It just needs games which are coming soon. Free online is great. Being able to store music and videos on your system is cool or just playing them off the memory card readers. You can also "share" dled games with close friends up to 5 times which is awesome. Upgradable HD and No proprietary memory cards are also plus.

10) The most importand of all:P, is FF7 really coming out for PS3??? as a remake? Sorry. Square says they would like to but are too busy with other projects at the moment to even think about it.

While I found some answers on other pages, I perfer to get answers from PS3 owners(trust the more than Sony webpage:P) to decide if it's worth keeping money for one or two months to get a PS3 or simple go to store tommorow for a wii. If you dont have an HDTV then the Wii might be the right choice for you. But if you do have a HDTV the Wii just wont do IMHO.

1) Resistance doesn't even use the trigger... It uses the R1 bumper but it's fine with me. Works fine for shooters and I used to have a 360 myself and the SIXAXIS will feel pretty awkward at first but you'll get really used to it in a day or two of playing. The motion sensing is great, normal games usually have little features that use it, some racing games let you use the controller tilt to steer your vehicle, fl0w is great with it and playing itwith WarHawk and Lair looks awesome!

2) Comes with the 60 GB version and it's in the console.

3) All PS2 games work with the PS3 and they look and play fine now.

4) No, mine has never overheated.

5) Nope, it's a $600 system so it is pretty high quality.

6) Resistance, MotorStorm, Oblivion, Rainbow Six Vegas,The Darkness, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma are the games I would suggest that are almost all out now. Games to look out for I would probably say Haze, WarHawk, Lair, Little Big Planet, Heavy Rain, MGS4, Uncharted, The Agency, Time Crisis 4, That Crytech game coming out for the PS3, and Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction.

7) No lag and yeah you can get free demos from the PSN.

8) Not that I know of.

9)

10) Don't know.

1) 360 has by far the best controller

2) Wifi is built into the console (A+ for Sony on that)

3) God of War will work fine on the PS3

4) PS3 has no heating problems (another A++ for Sony)

5) No problems with the Ps3 that I heard of (which means basically no)

6) Ninja Gaiden: Sigma & Motorstorm

7) I've experienced no lag so far & demos can be downloaded off of PSN (they don't have many though)

8) Don't know of many PS2 games that are downloadable

9) The game lineup is not that great at the moment, but I'd jump in right now and go buy Ninja Gaiden: Sigma on7-2-2007

10) Their is no remake of FF7 coming

1) The controller feels quite nice. I myself have a 360 and love the layout of it. I thought it was going to be difficult going back to the PS type controller but its not. I played Resistance on it and its very good. The controller is much lighter that's the biggest change.

2) The wifi is built in the console as is the power supply. So instead of a clunky cable on your floor that heats up, the PS3 has it inside the console so the console is heavier.

3) all PS2 and I believe PSX games work on the PS3 and upscaled.

4) No. I've heard stories of people leaving on their PS3 for 6 days straight. People are folding 24/7 even.

5) No. ofcourse with every product their might be a defective unit here or there but no where near as bad or high as the 360. The 360's design is the flaw, it lacks heatsinks to cool it down.

6) I have too many games I want this year and the next so I'm very picky what I buy. I bought Resistance, its a good game. My second game is The Darkness which comes out this Monday.

7) I haven't experienced any lag. And the PSN store is great, it reminds me of iTunes.

8) I haven't tried it but I think its true.

9) N/A

10) Yes. Nomura is hinting that he will make it but way after he's finished with other projects. I wouldn't expect it until 2010 or so

I was like you except my 360 didn't die. I just upgraded my PC making my 360 inferior and worthless in every way. The PS3 is a great machine for whatever you want to do, from going online and surfing the net, to making it a server with linux, to playing games to using it as a stereo in 7.1 sound, or watching DVD. blu-ray movies. This thing has it all and its built to last.

If you don't mind playing on the PC those games like every other 360 game will eventually come to the PC. Fable 1 did so Fable 2 will. Halo 1 and 2 did, so Halo 3 will. Bioware made Jade Empire exclusive for the Xbox and it came to the PC, I expect Mass Effect to be the same. Even Lost Planet and Gears is coming to the PC.

the triggers work well with games that use the sensitivity that the triggers offer, such as racing games, the harder you push them, the more the car accelerates, but other then that, they work well. and as for the motion sensing, there arent alot of games that offer motion sensing atm, only one i currently know of is motorstorm, there are others. it feels good, movement is proper, just needs to be refined a little, alot of games just rushed motion sensing in.

and about the ff7 remake.

nomura has confirmed that at this very moment it is NOT in the works, BUT he has also hinted at it being a future project. i think he knows just as well as everyone els that it will be made, just trying to get us on edge. ENOUGH ALREADY! hahaha

My 360 froze and got redrings all the time, so I traded in for a PS3. My PS3 had never froze or any kind of problems, and Ive played all of my PS2 games on my PS3 worked fine...... to be honest the 360 controller feels nice and it's great for FPSs but the D pad didnt work well. PS3 controller looks great cuz of the thumb sticks stand side by side, and the D pad work great too. I do wish the PS3 controller were a little bigger tho.

The best part is PS3 online is free, and always will be free, and never a lag even when I played 40 players on Resistance. or MotorStorm online..... also HOME is gonna be great as well, and more of great action games like HeavenlySword and such that only on PS3. KillZone, Haze looked promissing.

Actually Ive never was or even now a big Playstation fan, I was a Sega, Xbox fan and Live. but I cant just pay for playing on Live for ever, FPSs and Racing all the time can get pretty boring..... I dont dislike any consoles personly, it's just that PS3 offering more as mentioned above.

Im playing PS3 and PC games regardless #1 or not, better games free online.
