You press Triangle and Circle the same time to to activate it, then shake controller while its charging. Simple :)

Also you cant use it all the time its limited. Look under your health bar you should see two flames, they represent how many you have. Collecting a red orb will replenish these or use a red potion. 

I have no problem using it. Maybe you should do it correctly like above mention.MaximumD

He just didn't know how to do it, now I'm sure he'll have no problem using it.

Yeah im having the same problem..

Just wall jump attack him and dodge right before he swings at you when you land. Just do that over and over till you get him down to 25%. Always works for me.

a lot of blocking and not taking her combos to the point of jumping, because everytime I jumped another one of them hit me with a 3 hit combo as soon as landed.

Also, if you're blocking flick towards the guy when he attacks you and you'll flip over him and you can get a quick kick in

Thats what i did. Once you defeat one wave of enemies charge up your hammer and slam the next wave then do the above over and over. Repeat untill you get to the two demons at end. For these charge up your hammer and release as they roll towards you.

Use your magic here if you can or (if on master ninja) jus do the hammer charge.

I just found the charged hammer attack kills them in one go after i used the magic attack so its quicker and i never get hit or grabbed in the mouth.

Either way is good i spose aslong as your havn fun :)

I just never thought of charging up the hammer and doing that.  Probably a much better idea. lol

I got killed once by the grabbed in the mouth move. That was cool seeing rachel get swung around in slow-motion.

Keep your finger on the block button, move around often (mostly while blocking) He does a charge up attack, when he does, you time it right and move just far enough to get out of the attack range, that will leave you a small window of when he's unguarded. You let'er rip, he'll eventually block. Do this, and repeat. His defence is very strong, so logically it's best to look for openings. That's the only one I've come up with so far without using your magic, and he deflects projectiles.

She's also weak and flimsy too, and her controls aren't as tight as Ryu's. I didn't like her "monster mash mini game" at all, I died, I gave up and went back to the other more better part of the demo.

true but the dinos are slow....run away and charge up the hammer and when the come at ya...let her rip, run away, repeat. lol
