i think it resets all the video settings to default. helpful for me when i bring it to someones house that doesnt have an HDTV and i forget to reset my settings before i leave
It resets all display and sound settings if you do that, so that you can switch from a hd tv to a normal one... nc_soldier
not only from hdtv to sdtv but also some hdtv to hdtv. i have a sony bravia hdtv connected through hdmi and when i tried to connect the ps3 to a panasonic hdtv on a friends house i had to reset everything holding the power button cause there was no video.
