Meh - this would raise costs for little to no benefit IMHO.
I am not so lazy that I can't change a disk - and I would rather the R&D / Production costs be spent on something that actually imroves gameplay instead of something like this. An add on drive - sure - but a standard feature? No - as I said I would rather have SONY spend the money on something that improves games - not a feature that has no prctical purpose other than making us even more lazy.
my dvd player has that and it's small. 5 disc slots
i was always thinking of that, my #1 thing i want in a new console.
sounds like you guys are a little lazy... music cds need to be changed constantly on the fly for variety unlike moviessignore
i am very lazy thats why i need that add-on. :P
Ummm Imagine the Calls sony support would get
Disc tray 1, 3 and 5 works....The other dont
2 will only pay DVD's and 4 will only play muisc discs
LOL
No
Just no
A 6 Blueray changer. You know like a car 6 cd changer... You could just put 6 of your favorite games or bluerays in there so you don't have to switch each game every time.... I am just throwing this out there but in my mind that would be an amazing addition.yeaaboii
Why a 6 Bluray-changer??? Why not just make the PS4 with two terrabytes of space (2000 GB, 2000000 MB), then you'd just download games from the PS Store. Then you'd have a smaller console (because of the missing slot for Bluray's, CD's and DVD's) and all you're games on the PS4 HDD. All the gamestores (which i hate) would go bankrupt. Additionally to the PS Store you'd probably have a Store for Blurays to so that you could download movies from there.

Yea but then you would not get any resale value on games...

Good point now that we are seeing 1TB drives for $130 and 2TB drives for $250 (TigerDirect.com) - that is much more likely and useful than a disc changer IMHO.
lol.. that would be a stupid needless cost... just get up and change the disc .. simple.. and it doesn't raise the price of the system americahellyeahbut if they put away the "slot for Bluray's, CD's and DVD's" there's enough money for the bigger HDDm plus i'm talking about PS4 which wont be out in at least 2 years. In two years the HDD standards will be much bigger and cost less than they do today.

2 words : HELL.NO!
Um, that would heinously multiply the cost to make, it's not funny. And considering I've still only ONE ps3 disc game, and a buttload of ps2 and ps1 games instead, it would go to waste.codezer0
It wouldnt raise the cost that much, alot of you people are looking at the costs by the single unit, while it would be millions of units.
It wouldnt goto wast, blu ray players can play cds and dvds :P Imagine how much easier things would be to say have the 3 final fantasy discs in the machine without having to change them, you could just keep playing.
I would love this feature would make a game night so much easier. Would have so much less downtime, just a simple click of the button and your playing a new game.

And you'd need a fast connection or A LOT of patience...

its a good idea, but i dont think its necessary, especially because that could raise the price, and ive never had any luck with those cd changers because they seem to malfunction for most of the time ive had one.

Considering that Sony went out of its way to remove BC from PS3's at the tune of $5/chip and two of the USB ports and card readers to the tune of $0.05/slot, you'd better believe they would be that petty to not do it.A 6 Blueray changer. yeah i've thought about adding something like that. maybe not six but 3 would do just fine
Heck no! The PS4 would be huge, and I think Sony is also moving to digital distribution in the future.Elviathan
I also have a feeling that Playstation is going to find ways to cut costs in the future to tempt people who wouldn't or couldn't buy their system this time around due to the price factor to buy the system next time around. So, I don't think that Sony will be looking into these all around costly additions for little purpose what-so-ever.
a disc changer would be an excellent feature i agree.ronniepage588
It would make the system way too big though.
