I know that games install and take usually around 1-5 GIG but why does the XBox 360 only take around 20-100 MB? I compared Dragon Age on PS3 to that of 260 and PS3 is 3GIG and xbox was only 34 MB! I just am not understanding :P

in my opinion, its because microsoft used some outdated stuff for the 360 but the PS3 has up-to-date stuff and the PS3 also has stuff that the 360 dosn't so i think thats why it takes up more space on the PS3

your asking about the 360 in the ps3 forums. aka comparing systems. in the headline it says "This forum is NOT here for you to discuss other topics that do not involve this platform or to compare other platforms. Discussing or trolling about any non-related Sony game platforms can result in a moderation with a suspension duration. If you would like to discuss or compare platforms, please use the System Wars forum."

Simply put, because they can. The ps3's blu-ray drive isn't the fastest due to it being a new tech at the time. Developers could make mandatory installs on PS3 games because they know that every system out there has at least a 20gb hdd at retail. They would do the same for Xbox (hdd is faster than dvd) but they have to keep in mind the lowest common denominator, the XBOX 360 arcade.

I believe its because the dvd drive is faster in the 360 compared to the bluray, So to minimize the lag, we still the game parts on our HDD while the 360 just runs it off the disc with a small installation. Correct me if im wrong.

You are correct, also the 360 gives the option to install the game which will be about 6-7 Gigs and it runs off the hard drive, basically it's optional on the 360 but not on the PS3 due to the drive in the PS3 not really running the blu ray disc optimally yet it's not optional.
