Ever wanted PlayStation Home on your PSP? Well if you ever did, today is your lucky day. Sony has announced that they will be introducing a new PSP service that lets you create custom 3D avatars as well as "my room" spaces with blogs, albums, and group gatherings with chat support.

Although not called PlayStation Home like most would think, instead this new service will be called PlayStation R∞M (and no that isn't a typo it will have the infinity symbol in place of the "oo"). You will be able to access this new feature directly from your XMB under the PlayStation Network category. As you might have already figured out this will let you invite friends over to your room, and have a nice friendly conversation over a cup of tea the same way you would do on Home.

You could be expecting this new feature on a PSP near you this winter in an upcoming firmware update.

How long does anyone figure it will take for hackers to add genitalia to their home characters, or do other nasty stuff? Consider the concept PLANTED. Now just let it grow... thanks Sony, but no thanks. I can't play a game without hackers messing it up, what the **** am i gonna do with PSP Home? Guuuuhhhh...

cause obviously the PSP does not have a graphics card of a PS3. Meaning the PSP is not powerful enough to have HD (1080p) graphics in complete and total detail.

did anybody and stop and figure something out.

the way Japanese gamers play together with their handhelds is vastly different from the way Americans tend to play.

PSP Room, could very well work in a wi-fi, high speed interconnected cities of Japan, with the Otaku guys and gals hanging around.

but it will do us no good for us Americans living in the suburbs or most American cities (most don't have city-wide wifi, or wifi that even counts for anything).

Now if you ask me.

PSP Room really confused me, i can understand the concept on paper for the home console, in fact they're always adding to it, and eventually it will be more relevant and interesting.

but PSP Room, for your handheld? unless you live in a city that is highly interconnected with wifi and you got lots of social friends, it isn't really going to do anything. at least with this one PSP's (most of them) have built-in Mics.

Personally, I don't dig the look, but it's cool...I mean, I don't have the right to complain since I'm not obligated to use it. Who knows, I might just end up having the time of my life with that thing...assuming that I'm bored and for some reason, don't feel like playing a videogame (oh, it's happened before :P).

Well, I love the idea, and I can't wait for it to come here. I also love the cute character graphics. Young guys may think this sucks, but for me (I'm female) I'm totally looking forward to this. Why do people always have to be such downers when a certain genre of game just isn't their style? :/ Doesn't mean other people won't like it.
