Sony basically screwed over the 2000 owners.

I mean, an even brighter screen (possibly great for outdoors), & possibly more features? I'm glad I never owned a 2000 model, because if I did, I would be pretty pissed as well. By making that kind of move, Sony obviously shot the 2000 model owners in the foot.

I own a Slim PSP, and I'm not mad at all. Personally, I don't think that the new features warrant a purchase. I can see some people who just bought a Slim mad, but I bought mine 6 months ago and I'm fine with it until the PSP 4000 or whatever its going to be called comes out.

Unless they come out with a huge new feature for it, I wont be buying.

ditto. I have a slim, and i am totally ok with it. The good time i had with my PSP over the past 5 months or so make up for it. I wouldn't be upgrading, but maybe i will catch the next upgrade

Agreed. I'm fine with it. There just aren't enough new features in the new model to justify me making another purchase, or making a big deal out of it either.

Wow, this is the exact thing that owners of the original model said when the 2000 came out; get a grip. Hardware gets revised.

I can see why people who just bought the slim a month ago or so would be mad but i don't see why people who bought it a little while ago would be mad. This happens with every console out, their is always an improvement and people will always be disappointed if they just bought the console before the upgrade happens or if their was a price drop.

Still got my fatty, dont care for a new PSP new features did not amaze me by much.

Lets make more compatibiltiy with the PSP instead. Transfering photos directly from camera or other device directly to PSP and such. Also make it so we can use a an actual USB memory Key and tranfer files or acess files from the USB key. Sure it will be bulkier looking with a key sticking out but some may find use for it.

Kinda like how Nintendo screwed over DS owners with the DS Lite?

Kinda like how Nintendo screwed over GBA owners with the GBA SP?

Kinda like How Microsoft screwed over 360 owners with 60 gig model?

This kind of stuff is stuff is nothing new. But some how you guys always have to make a big deal over it.

If you really want the new feature, buy a 3000. If you don't want to buy another PSP, don't.

New models of consoles come out all the time, you should have kept this in mind.

I'll likely be getting a 3000 though. I've got a 1000.... And it's taken quite a beating. It's about time for me to get a new PSP, so Im just gonna get a 3000 once it comes.

i have both the 1000 and 2000. only reason i got the 2000 was for skype.

yeah i guess im the only person here that uses the 2000 for that reason. lol

but im not mad i dont really care abotu this new 3000 PSP.

now if they added an other anolong stick and had a new line up of PSP games that are playable with 2 anolong sticks ( shooters) then i will be mad. but the only new thing is built in mic and a messager. like Skype you have to have WiFi to use. so i ratehr just keep my 2000 PSP and use Skypecuz i think talking. is way better then messageing dont you guys agree?

Are you new to the technology world mate? This happens all the time. PS2 had several different models, each improving over the last one mistakes, then they had the Slim PS2, and then again different models of it. Or look at Nintendo, 1 colour then 7 million different colours, etc. It happens, a real screw to the users would be ditching the console.

I've had the PSP-2000 for about a year now, and I have no regrets...

I'm not sure if even a PSP2 announcement would shake me that much right now... Cause I'm still holding out for Tom Clancy's Endwar... :P

I got my psp 2000 just last month and although i was kinda mad the new ones out already it still doesn't warrant a purchase. also sony probably won't make a new lineup of fps games until they release the psp2 (which will probably have two analog sticks) theyd have riot on there hands if they did sooner. lol

So will it cost a lot more then the 2000? I ask this because of my psp fat or 1000 or w.e. imploded about a month ago. I have like 20+ games/movies for it so I might need a new one. I also refuse to pay 80 bux to repair it. Yeah,

Same, i just got it like a day or two ago. And having to call friends on a built-in mic would suck....because I dont want my face jamming on the screen. (For SKYPE that is...)

Not really, the brighter screen is really the only new feature besides the built in mic, but you can still use mics with the current PSP's I believe.

Sony and Microsoft are both doing it at the moment. Sony released the 60gb ps3, then they bought out a 40gb, and now a 160gb. Microsoft released the basic and the pack with slightly more features and then they release the elite. So they are both at it, in the long run i think that they will miss out. And the answer to the question is no i dont get annoyed because i no that sony will only make another PSP but better. So whats the point in updating?

I had an original PSP and got a 2000 when it came out. I'm not upset even a little about the 3000. If you're into electronics and get upset every time a new version of something comes out, you must live a pretty miserable life.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think I may pick up a 3000. That picture with the strawberries looks pretty amazing.

Are The upgrades of PSP 3000 worth it? I would like to see Sony get to work on a Real PSP 2. PS1,2,3 have gone though many revisions so I'm sure will see PSP 4000-7000 before a Real PSP 2. How about making some great PSP games?

I was planning on buying a psp this week or next, but not that they've announced this, I'm going to wait for october for the 3000. It doesn't sound like its worth trading in your 1000 or 2000 though.

I don't really see the problem. I think I'll buy a PSP-3000, but I wouldn't mind having the 2000 either. The "new" features of the original seem negligible and I think Sony was just looking for a way to get fans excited about the PSP again.

The new features for the PSP-3000 are:

-An anti-glare screen which allows to use your psp outside without any diffuculty seeing the screen along with a better quality picture

-Built in mic next to the plus volume button

-Slightly different shape in the front

-The HOME button has been replaced with a PS logo button so that the new "Home" feature for the PS3 doesn't get confused with the home button on the psp

-And this PSP is "rumored" to be virtually unhackable

-
