Looks like we're going to be playing Resistance 2 on the Wii.

No you must have heard wrong. I bought Bungie. They work out of my basement. I now have a copy of Halo 3 that plays on my PS3. The online multiplyer is awesome. donnygorgas

LOL, now that would be funny.

But it is completly untrue to my knowledge, also Bungie wanted to go independent why would they sell when they just got there independence back.

Bungie does not need to sell, they wanted to go independent because it offer's them more creative freedom and larger profits on the owned IP's.

Microsoft own's the Halo IP and the rights to the Halo world(character names/story arcs/locations etc etc) so even if Sony did buy bungie it would not mean halo would be on a Sony system.
