I've been experiencing issues with my Sony ps3 controllers. It started while playing Fallout 3 where I would use the left analog stick to move my character, but when I let go of the stick, my character would continue to move in whatever direction I was moving him in. It would also take serveral presses of the face buttons for the game to register them. When this would happen, I would have to turn the controller off, then turn back on. It would work normally for an hour or so, then go back to doing the same thing. I figured it was just that controller, so I switched to another controller, and eventually the same thing would happen. So, i figured it was just that game, but now I've been playing GTA V and the same thing is happening again. Trying to drive a car, I make a left turn and straighten the stick out to come out of the turn, but my car keeps turning left. Makes those chase scenes pretty tough. Anyways, I'm just trying to see if anyone out there has gone through this before. I have 3 song controllers (2 dual shock). I've reset them using the small button on the back but that doesn't fix the problem. Now i'm wondering if its a problem with the IR detection. I have a first generation ps3.

Maybe your controllers are just old and showing wear or you might need to clean the controller. On one of my controllers the left analog sometimes sticksI als and I have to pull it out of the depressed position. I also took apart one of my controllers to clean it because sometimes the face buttons can stick if there is a lot of crap stuck in there.
