i really doubt xbox will sell that many. They didn't even hit 5 million sold yet, they are on the shelves of every electronic/game store in the country. I think they would be extremely lucky if they sell even 8 million by november 2014.

At this point that's a given. They could be in the low teens (millons) by end of this calendar year. They have to be smart and keep momentum going.

Lol no shit Sherlock. It'll be a lot more than 10 million units sold by the end of this year, hell even the Xbox One will sell over 10 million, they're sitting at 5 mill as it stands.

I would say the would sell about 13 million by the end of the year.

It will slow down during the summer, start picking up again in the fall, then people trying to get it during black friday through christmas

It's going to sell way more than 10 million units. We're not even half way through the year, the summer months are slow but I expect Sony to move the PS4 just fine this summer.

Once the holidays come it's sales will only skyrocket. I think 10 million is a conservative estimate on how many PS4's Sony will sell in 2014.

Agreed, once the really big tittles start dropping, the PS4 will be flying off the shelf! Sony was really smart to launch the system at such a low price point but I do believe that MS won't be to far behind once their exclusives start coming out.

Anyone have any idea how much money they're making per console? This is true of both systems (I own both, I want them both to succeed), but if they're selling at close to a loss (and at one point the estimate was something like $15 bucks profit a console), then 10 million 15 million whatever isn't going to net them a lot of profit.

Considering how many of Sony's businesses are in the tank right now, I'd hate to see them win mindshare and numbers and find themselves in a position they can't sustain. I prefer more companies in the console wars than less.

I'm still not clear on the topic ; Sony could sell 10 million more this year, which means 17 million overall, given that they have sold 7 million already, or Sony could sell 10 million overall , which means 3 million more this year ?

The former is a bit too large , the latter is far too small !
