first insomniac moved from rachet & clank to Resistance (yes i know theyre still making an R & C title), then naughty dog moved from jak and crash bandicoot to uncharted, now sucker punch is going from sly cooper to inFAMOUS....whats with all the "casual" games devs getting all hardcore?
They arent "moving" so much as "expanding". There are still R&C games being made, and last I heard there might be a new Jak in the works. Its like having Resistance and Unchartered in addition to Jak and Ratchet.

I think they're having too much fun screwing around with new weapon ideas for Ratchet & Clank so that they can then translate them over to Resistance. :)
I'm not sure but I think that these devs are making this game as "tests" to new development tools and engine designs. I mean, developers do this a lot. They make a game that's just a test of one concept and it just happens that they decide that they can turn it into a decent game.

As a developer, you don't wantto be stuck with the same franchise.. You want to start as many as possible. You also want to do something which is completely opposite to what you did before.
I am not sure if they sold it...I know the license is under vivendi universal now, I think it was to begin with and naught dog was part of vivendi universal, but with the success of crash and the troubles vivendi had naughty dog ended up moving to sony
