Sony forgetting about Europe - PS1 Classics

This is starting to really annoy me.

The US PS store has had Spyro 2 for weeks now yet there is still no sign of it on the EU store. (Resident Evil too)

Now the US have MGS1 and there is no sign when or IF we will ever get it in Europe.

Both those classics would be instant buys for me. What will they give to the US and keep from Europe next? Spiderman, Crash 2, Oddworld?

It can't be that hard to adjust games for the EU region, come on.

I've never understood why Sony treats Europe any differently than the US. I mean, it's the world-wide web, why have different things for different areas? I dunno, maybe there are different copyrights or different laws or something. You guys have my sympathy though!

For are a region that highly supports the Playstation brand we sure are not getting the rewards for it. Yeah we still get great content and what-not but we always have to wait months after Japan and America get them. Im just glad UK got FF7, was pissed that we didnt get MGS1 but hopefully they will announce it soon. Swift_Boss_A

I remember reading that last year Sony made more money in Europe than in Asia or America.Not sure if it's true but if it is why doesn't Sony give more support to Europe?

Try Southeast Asia, we're much worse off. For starters, we're about the same when it comes to Europe, any other content is either not here or in JAPANESE. They should just make PSN international, dammit!Rhen_Var

Yeah it annoys me too, luckily for me though, the only game I was waiting for was Final Fantasy VII, which came out a week or so ago...

I did have the original but I can't find Disc 1, and I was pegging for a go so It really annoyed me when I saw Japan got it ages before we did...

But anyways at least its out now, I was just about to fork out £50 for a new copy off amazon too lol

Another week goes by as the US continue to enjoy Spyro 2 (best in series), Resident Evil (Revolutionary horror), MGS1 (It's metal gear solid!) and more classics on their PS3s and PSPs and Europe gets one of the most lame updates ever with no PSone classics.

It is annoying, but it's the same between america and Japan. Why does Japan and asia territories get games like White Knight, Demon Souls, Yakuza 3, Yakuza Kienzan, Dark mist, Afirka, and a bunch of PS1 games? Japan doesn't even care about half those games. Yakuza 3 and White Knight sold solidly but still. Why did it take almost a year for hot shots golf 5 to come out in english. In came out in NA in march of 08 and in JP and Asia in july of 07. There was no reason for it. I feel your pain nontheless. If you really want to watch videos use the internet browswer and watch things from sites online. The video store is a tad bit of a rip off. It costs like $15 dollars or so to own a movie.

Sony treats Japan like gold with bundles and different colors of PS3's with quite a bit more games yet PS3 only sells like 40,000 units a month or so. Europe and USA buy more PS3's in one week than Japan does for a whole month but yet we get treated like second class. Even wii only sells about 60,000 a month or so according to VGchartz. Japan is handheld land. Even with the 360's RPG lineups they failed to touch Japan. I don't mean to sound rude to the people in Japan who do play games but Japan is a dead market. Why do they still get things first? It's crap my friend. Why do think MS is so successful, they know where their market is. They have a strong NA presence so they spend all their money making sure that presence stays strong. If it makes you feel any better,NA just started to get more games like a month ago.Before then it was rather crap.

The US always has to wait a while after Japan gets something. It's just the natural order of games, unfortunately. I'm pretty sure Europe has a lot more strict rules and laws that also make it a good bit more difficult when it comes to releasing content.

Yeah Europe always gets treated like crap.....It sucks.....anyway if its of any comfort I think that you can still play US PS1 games (downloaded from the USpsn) on your European PSP.

PS: this still doesn't mean that sony is treating European gamers any better...though if like me you guys want to play psone games though the ones you want are only on the US PSN I think that you can download them on to your psp's and then you can still play them, cause correct me if I'm wrong, the psp doesnt have a regional protection code..

True, except in the UK, down the side of the box wenormally onlyget simple text which says the name of the game,whereas in the US they have thegames logo. I know its only a small thing but it really annoys me.

For example, Terminator Salvation was published by Warner Brothers in America, but in Japan and other countries Sony is publishing it, and this is the case for most international release movies. In order for movies to be on the PSN store, Sony has to get permission from different publishign companies and it would cause way too much payment in royalties to different companies.

Crash 2 was on EU PSN for a while but it was taking off for no reason.Same with Silent Hill 1.
