We are talking about the ability to send messages while in game - not an advanced game with millions in development that costs you $60 to buy and have a bunch of glitches and framerate problems..... Rushed product to do messaging would have been perfectly fine - it either works or not... System is already in place (PSN) we are only talking about accessing it. This seems to be a problem of wanting to deliver everything at once instead of focusing on the most important aspect and then fix the rest later (ie messaging a few months ago and home / xmb etc by the summer).......

Actually a rushed product to do messaging would make your PS3 freeze everytime you tried to read a message while playing a game, so if you consider that perfectly fine. It's already been stated that it takes quite a bit of RAM to access the XMB, which yes, that was a mistake of Sony's, but with each firmware and dev kit update, they've been reducing that number.

It's tough to call this the 'most important aspect' because honestly I could care less about answering messages while in a game. Anyone I would want to talk to, I can do so either by the game's comm system or through other means. This could mean you are right and they're looking to please everyone at once by bringing out everything at once, but is that actually a bad thing. I know you'll say it is just because you have to wait longer and you're impatient, but I don't think it is.

I think it is a bad thing UNLESS it would have cost substantially more to do partial release or lead to overall delay. If they could have done the messaging without much of additional costs and without delaying the rest of the updates then yeah they yeah it is a bad thing to please everyone at once.

This is japanese company with a different culture. They don't look at it like lets give some pieces to the public now and tell them when the rest is coming.... That is not how they operate and they expect people to wait - because they are used to a dominating market position.

No, i agree with u. everyone always has to complain, it gets on my nerves, specially the x box folk who always say things like "PS3 sucks". I mean, face it, PS3 won, get over it!

sony is just telling us so we are pumped ahead of time......the more time passes, the more we will want to play HOMEOrcsP2

I wouldn't be suprised. They are talking about that PS Store revamp - so perhaps it will come with that.
