• HOME has been in BETA testing for how long? The only update I found on Home was on this site. http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/02/21/home-beta-gets-a-significant-update-next-week/ I hope it's true. HOME should have been released already.
• In-Game XMB? Where the hell is it? Why no ETA?
• Metal Gear Solid 4. If it's coming out within the next 6 months then why is there no Official Release Date?
• When is the Dualshock 3 controller coming out?

Definitely because the Billions dollars Sony just secured using the PS3 to win the format war means they don't need it any more.

Live Beta tested forever. When it was released it had problems too. I would have wanted it to be tested longer and have less problems then just come out not finished.

XMB, it is coming. Sooner is better then later. Not having it this instant does not make games suddenly unplayable.

MGS4 will be out when its finished. Relax and enjoy the other games coming.

DS3 is out. You want one so bad import it. You'll have it in a couple of days and not spend much more the what it'll retail for here.

They are said to be undertaking a revamp on the PSN. As for MGS4. Quater 2 of this year. Not Son's fault. Talk to Konami. Home is supposed to be out at the end of March, we'll see about that. I'm also angry with no in game media use. I want to listen to my own music. As for SCEA. I think they will get better. Blu-ray just won the race and that means Sony should pick up some speed, or at least I hope so.

Just FYI, MGS4 has a firm release date for May 21st, 2008.

Of course things can change but if there is going to be a change it will announced here pretty soon (as retailers need at least a month or two to get the marketing/retail space set up).

Now I don't believe this but supposedly Haze is going to be released the exact same day (my guess is one of those is going to change because I can't believe they would release the biggest titles for the PS3 at the same time)

The 80gb wasn't made to stay the entire course so to speak it was just a temporary incentive. We don't know what goes on inside Sony's data development. My guess is they are probably going to try and do pure software emulation using the PS3 hardware, but due to how difficult it can be getting newer more advanced technology working with older software can be quite difficult. Again this is only my theory.

A purpose of a beta is to get a select amount of people to come in and do some user tesing in order to find errors and glitches that aren't found in typical testing. It is during this time that they take opinions from people on how to improve the service. So even though the beta is closed they will continue to develop on new features and correct the old features which also takes time. Usaully beta's unless they are an open beta will be secret, this is so people who will be using this feature that weren't in the beta will be surprised and shocked. Development is a fickle thing you uncover challenges when you think you have a finished product and you always think of better thing.

This is a feature that will probably be released with the next big update with a bunch of other new features. Just because it isn't released "now" doesn't mean they have forgotten or given up. It is probably already coded and ready but will be released at the time Sony's release schedule deems necessary. Features aren't released as soon as they are finished in development they are released when the business deems it best.

This is a Konami issue, not a Sony.

Maybe they ran into some troubles with international trade laws and or prices. Or maybe they have a big surprise in store for North America and will release it with this surprise. All I can do on this topic is speculate.

All those questions can be answered by doing a little bit of research. And, be happy, at least your PS3 isn't flashing three red lights.Canvas_Of_Flesh

The 80gb doesn't matter, PS2 is in the past. It's just as cheap to buy a 40gb and a PS2 if one wants it so bad, and chances are they have a PS2 already. I want home released when its ready. All I need is in-game music, and that's on the way. I don't really care about MGS4. DS3 is out in Japan and you can import one if you need it so badly for $10 extra. I'm content to wait. The community isn't losing faith, you are, and for invalid reasons imo. Things take time, son, MS wasn't conquered in a day.

XMB access in games is a reality today :

- in HVbowling : you can have music from XMB

- in Eye of Judgment : you can access your friends list to do a duel

So it's only developers haven't implemented yet, but technically it's already working ;)

I can't seem to find a link to the official industry statement enacting all next-gen systems to have an in-game sub menu with action items mirroring system functions not related to gameplay. Sony also has failed to provide a console capable of displaying red indicators in the shape of 3/4 of a circle, has a usage life longer than 3 years, rivals noise levels of most commercial grade transatlantic aircraft, a paid online service with no dedicated servers and advertising, DRM content so strongly protected you'll have to buy it twice, and an accessory catalog with all the addon goodies to make your system an actual next0gen console through retail "micro-transactions".

Sony started out with a two model idea for the PS3 - one with all the bells and whistles and one with all the main functions but without the extras, e.g. the 20GB and the 60GB. Sony keeps making them better, with the questionable exception of BC funcionality, e.g. the 40GB and the 80GB. Rumor is the 80GB will be updated and released as a 120GB model. What are you complaining about? Our community is doing just fine. You're just mad that all Sony changes is the HDD size and the extras - which means all of us never get screwed or miss out on anything important, say, like whether or not your 360 model came with HDMI out of the box, for example.
