I've read the SCEE thing and If SONY did this it would be the stupidest move SONY can even attempt to achieve in the future...

way to totally misunderstand your market. the 20gig didn't sell well because it was considerably inferior to the 60gig - it wasn't that having 2 SKUs confused the consumers. having the 60 and the 80 with a reduced entry point price would have been brilliant compared to what the idiots are doing.

I'm not so sure about that theory either. Maybe it just took a while for people to take a deep breath and take the plunge for $499. I had decided to buy one, and then I couldn't find the 20gb model, it was all sold out. I had no worries about it being "inferior", the 60gb had featuresI have no usefor.If it sold out, that doesn't sound like there wasn't demand for it. Same with if they discontinue the current 60gb model. Instead of offering 2 price points and giving people an option, they will do what they did with the 20gb, phase it out and sell the higher priced item.

okay sony didn't own. after such huge bragging and a poor launch all they had to do was act huimbleshow an exclusive game and a few other decent ones and every one would be happy.

The 60gig PS3 will not be made any longer.

The 80gig will come packeged with a copy of motorstorm and will be without the emotion engine. I believe when Sony realizes how well the PS3 is selling at $500 they will drop the price of the 80 gig to $500 and remove motorstorm.
