Sony needs to drop the price of this system IMMEDIATELY.

I hope that Sony does a price drop on this system soon. Because if they don't, then many of the multiplatform games will wind up becoming 360 exclusives, then I will have to wind up buying a 360 just to play those games in High Definition graphics, which I don't want.

And I HATE X-Box.

Or make better exclusives, mor exclusive hits you have with a well known series, the better the PS3 sales - But Sony better start producing more products outside of the Gaming Department because believe it or not, they are losing out on money becaus eof the PS3's price, it should be higher, the Blu-Ray player is what makes it so expensive...

this is not goin to happen anytime soon due to the fact sony is inred because of the ps3 y because the ps3 cost over 700 hundred dollar to make which i still dont understand how they in red and they make so much stuff tv game videogame system etc upay

their video game division was in the red. as for the entire company(music, movies, electronics), they were not in the red.

I hear ya, just sold my 3rd attempt on that system before it broke down again. Nice to have a system that only has a red light when it's in standby :)

couldnt agree more with these guys, a cell phone costs just as much.

if all you cheap people out there would stop waiting for a hundred dollar price break and mow 1 lawn a week for say 15 bucks then it would have taken you what 2-3 months to get your ps3's, now almost 9 months after launch your still whining for the price break, get a life

Lets see a unit that streams to the tv from apple -- $299, A bluray player except from Sony $700+, hmm hmmm The ps3 might have more than you are willing to pay for, but that doesn't make it expensive for what you get. You get way more for your money than if you buy alot of other things that does the same. It might be to much for a lot of gamers, but with time it is surely going to win more and more of an audience.

On the other hand 500,000 people bought the iphone the first weekend that means there are at least 500,000 idiots out there......... Don't take it personal if you bought one, just not a very smart decision if you understand the cell-phone market and different technologies that are options.

the profits from HDTV sales kept Sony, as a whole, out of the red. Profits made from one division doesn't keep another division from going into the red. Business doesn't work like that. You have a division. The money made for that division is reported for that division and only that division.
