Sony not doing a good job in advertising the PS3 and its games.

I have to say if Sony wants to sell more systems it needs to advertise it and its games more, I live in the UK and the only advertising I see on TV is either xbox 360 or Wii I haven't seen a single PS3 advertised on TV.EA did a great advertisement for FIFA 09 last weekend and it was awesome but it was from a 3rd party.

Since the release of the PS3 they had those weird adverts where people living in a hotel and the phrase " THIS IS LIVING" which I only new it was a PS3 advert at the end when it said PLAYSTATION 3.

Sony has a lot of great titles coming out in the upcoming months like LBP, R2, Motorstorm etc... and if Sony don't make an advertising campaign for these games I don't see them doing well in the market.

Your thoughts do you agree? or are you one of those who think they don't need to advertise for the system because the PLAYSTATION brand is popular in Europe?

they know how to make advertisement BUT they dont use it.

the year they were number one sponsor for the champions league their ads were great ( ps2 time ) and their logos were good too, i especially like "live in your world, play in ours". but it seems they dont care about it much because we dont see them often, which is huge wrong for sony.

they should use advertisement power because m$ wins with that only... if they want, they can sale crap like gold while sony cant even sell real gold. thats really big disadvantage

I'm sure they'll start up a new marketing blitz for the holiday season, but I totally agree. 360 ads seem to be ubiquitous across television and the web. PS3 ads are seriously lacking. Plus 360 advertises for all sorts of multiplatform games... Just saw one for Rock Band. Why can't Sony do something similar? Let people know that the PS3 is just as exciting and capable of playing those same multiplatform games.

They really should figure something out... That smug sense of superiority that lead Kataragi to forgo securing exclusives like GTAIV and Assassin's Creed has somehow pervaded the rest of the company despite his absense... They need to suck it up and fight in the trenches just like Microsoft.

i live in the us... i have just recently only seen a 360 commercial advertising the new price of the 360... wii has none and ps3 has none... so relax..polishkid99

I'm not worried I'm just pointing out that Sony ever since they released the PS3 they aren't advertising like other companies which to me is a mistake.

I ahven't even seen an advert for their other items like TVs, walkmans, mobiles or stereos.

Maybe they're busy filming new adverts to put on tv?

Maybe in time for xmas?

Who knows.

It's only been like this for the past month or so, but this is about how it falls out in my area.

Around October you will start seeing more marketing,that's usually the kick start for the holiday season...

did no one see the ps3 uk ad during the break between Man U v Chelsea Match. it was pretty long and for FIFA 09. they had famous players holding ps3 controllers. must have cost them alot.-Y2J-

I mentioned that commercial and I believe EA did that not Sony.
