I think Sony has started to redeem themselves for their arrogance the past couple years. They have gone back on the offensive with securing UT3 and Haze as timed exclusives, and MGS4 as an exclusive despite the rumours.
I was impressed with their E3 display, although disappointed we didn't get to see anything new on FFXIII yet. With the addition of rumble and the price drop, I can see things turning around for Sony. This holiday season will be alot better for Sony, although I do not believe they will outdue Microsoft this year. Microsoft has a really good balance of games this year, Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, BioShock, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Ace Combat 6, Project Gotham Racing 4 and Halo 3.
Not to say the games that will be coming to the Play Station 3 won't be great, but with the Microsoft user base and mass hype of Halo 3 it would be damn near impossible for Sony to pull attention from them. I see 2008 as the big turning point, with Metal Gear Solid 4, Grand Turismo 5, Kill Zone 2, White Knight Story, Final Fantasy XIII *Fingers crossed* and Final Fantasy versus XIII. But like I said Sony will have really good holiday season this year with Haze, Unreal Tournament 3, Lair, Heavenly Sword, Socom: Confrontation, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Warhawk.
Also all the great 3rd party games like Assassin's Creed, Devil May Cry 4, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Resident Evil 5, Grand Theft Auto 4, Rock Band, Guitar Hero III and the Last Remnant will be on both systems. Things just got interesting. Sony has the ball in their court and I am excited for what is to come, I haven't seen a pair off this good since the Sega vs Nintendo wars during the 16bit era. The point is I'm glad that Sony has come back swinging and I would like to know what everyone else thinks.
