I think Sony has started to redeem themselves for their arrogance the past couple years. They have gone back on the offensive with securing UT3 and Haze as timed exclusives, and MGS4 as an exclusive despite the rumours.

I was impressed with their E3 display, although disappointed we didn't get to see anything new on FFXIII yet. With the addition of rumble and the price drop, I can see things turning around for Sony. This holiday season will be alot better for Sony, although I do not believe they will outdue Microsoft this year. Microsoft has a really good balance of games this year, Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, BioShock, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Ace Combat 6, Project Gotham Racing 4 and Halo 3.

Not to say the games that will be coming to the Play Station 3 won't be great, but with the Microsoft user base and mass hype of Halo 3 it would be damn near impossible for Sony to pull attention from them. I see 2008 as the big turning point, with Metal Gear Solid 4, Grand Turismo 5, Kill Zone 2, White Knight Story, Final Fantasy XIII *Fingers crossed* and Final Fantasy versus XIII. But like I said Sony will have really good holiday season this year with Haze, Unreal Tournament 3, Lair, Heavenly Sword, Socom: Confrontation, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Warhawk.

Also all the great 3rd party games like Assassin's Creed, Devil May Cry 4, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Resident Evil 5, Grand Theft Auto 4, Rock Band, Guitar Hero III and the Last Remnant will be on both systems. Things just got interesting. Sony has the ball in their court and I am excited for what is to come, I haven't seen a pair off this good since the Sega vs Nintendo wars during the 16bit era. The point is I'm glad that Sony has come back swinging and I would like to know what everyone else thinks.

Sony never needed to redeem itself I told everyone and that I believe something big will happen in the near future which was meant that sony will do something incrediable at e3. Which they did, unleshing 15 exclusvies and not to mention a lot more exclusives that aren't even mention yet like the ones you said. Not to mention rumble and touch screen will now come to the ps3 with more stuff to its online community which makes online gaming on the ps3 unique and extrodinary. I think the two biggest things sony did was make a deal with nc soft and announce that they will be helping developers make better ps3 games. These two combine leads to endless possibilities. I will tell you one thing right now SONY is not finish at all I think their is still some or maybe even a lot more left it still has to announce this year.

Just a tip, no one will ever read a Great Wall Of Text like that. Try breaking it into Paragraphs next time.

As for sony redeeming themselves? Waht do they have to redeem themselves for? False accusitions and scepticism from the press? Nope.

it might be cuz kutaragi is not in charge any more but they we're really humble about playstation this time around instead of acting like it had already won.

Yeah if you look at the difference this time sony isn't trying to massively sell itself, instead its trying to present itself again and represent what it's always been standing for ever since the ps 1 came out.

meh i disagree.....there will be no "turning point" that happened when the Wii was released....THAT is this generations winnter...main lesson from e3 08???? casual gaming...and screw graphics.. thats what its turning into, and sony cant compete and neither can 360....in sales....nintendo has won...... whether or not they have exclusives or even a mario game...everyone buys everything.....even the movie games...

I own all three systems, and I promise you the Wii will not last as long as the PlayStation 3 or the Xbox360. The DS on the other hand.....

I also own a wii and I don't really see how its gonna cut it. Their is barely any exclusive games for it like 5 or 6. The other thing about it is that its turning into a workout machine instead of a game machine. Though it could mean a lot of good sales for it I personally don't like it heading that way.

Nintendo has made the point that they're moving away from the path that Sony and Microsoft have taken. Which is why I didn't include them. But Nintendo isn't the topic.

MS might have good software sales this year but they probably wont sell as many consoles. I think the numbers will start to favor Sony and the gap will begin to get smaller by the week. I'm not convinced Blue Dragon, Ace Combat will sell that many copies.

The thing is people are gonna be buying halo 3 because they will not spend over 180 dollars on games this holday season. Meaning halo 3 will sell the other games won't, but yeah i gotta agree with the ps3 sales. They are already starting to look up get ready for ps2 fans to move into the next gen.
