I hope when they 225 games (combination of PSP, PSN, PSone, and Minis) they mean 225 NEW games they added to the store. not just combine their adding to the already existing library.

i checked the American store and there are 143 games between UMD legacy and PSone games. so were at least looking forward to 82 new games on launch day. Let's hope it really means 225 old games are being placed on the store.

i'm excited.

uh... k i realize that. I knew from day one there was a problem with the UMD conversion though. 1. If they did it through retailers, how could they stop it from someone abusing the system or stealing one? think of the damage that could do to Sony's bottom line. legally and financially. 2. If they did it through the store, where say you bought you UMD, you give the code on the box and you get your digital copy sent to you. what is stopping gamers (and they'd do this in droves) from buying a PSP Go, buy the UMD, get the digital copy then return or sell the UMD game? how would Sony control the number of copies and to how many PSP it'd be authorized on. seriously people, take a moment to think this through, how could Sony do it to keep the gamers happy. I think that is why at E3 Peter Dille said "if you have 14 UMD games chances are you have a PSP 3000" that wasn't good enough so they ' looking into it' on the UMD conversion. The PSP Go is not the PSP2 and chances are if the PSP Go is any indication, the PSP 2 will not be backward compatible (why should it? most Nintendo handhelds usually skipped the backward compatibility, and they began a whole new library). it will probably be all digital, because it is the better market set up for Sony, the developers, and the publishers. The only threat it would then face would be gamers not going for it, and piracy. and obviously because iPod, iPhone, Zune and many other multi-media devices are purely digital format, it can be successful. Piracy then remains the last stand Sony would have to battle. More then beating Nintendo, it is about making a buck (on their end) at the end of the day. it's why PSP is still kicking. yes it is nowhere near as popular as DSi/DSl, but it does have it's own market. POINT IS: If Sony couldn't keep PSP Go, PS3 Slim, PS2/DC store add a secret, because people leaking out info or footage. How on God's green Earth would Sony be able to control a system to transfer UMD's to digital without being royally screwed somehow because someone abuses the system. and again, the PSP Go isn't replacing the 3000, you don't like it, cool. go buy a 3000. I'm just sharing what is going to be happening with the Go.

Yeah I know you are and it's interesting and although I have nointerest in one right now for the reasons I already mentioned I am interested in the way the market evolves. There is one obvious way for Sony to have handled a conversion program. Take your UMD to the store, have it converted and leave the UMD behind. Obviously that leaves a question of whether you then get "trade-in" money from the store as obviously they would be able to re-sell it but I'm sure the store would be happy to do that. That way Sony would have got an awful lot more takers for the Go I'm sure.

One thing I am looking forward to is the mini's. I'm hoping they will be similar quality to DSi Ware and in price too. With my 3000 I'll still be able to purchase them so happy times.

i'm thinking for my first Minis

I'm gonna pick up Tetris. depending on the price, it's freakin' Tetris, and the visuals for it are slick.

I am definently interested in the Digital Comics service, my main issue with it right now is the pricing. if it's $15-$20 screw it. i can just go out and buy the book.

if it's say $5-$10 i can concievable understand that. I'm a big Iron Man, Batman (I know DC comics isn't in it yet), Spider-Man and Moon Knight fan.

Im assuming that the 143 games that are already on there are going to be included in the 225 games. Therefore 82 new to psn games are going to arrive on the psn and not 225 (although im with you and wish it would be 225 old games). However there will be 15 miniS that will launch so that lowers the 82 down to 67 that will be a mix of umd legacy and PSone games.

What I do like is that I can go to the store and buy a voucher instead of just thru psn

Pretty good selction, I know I'll pick up AstroTripper (Great PS3 game), Tetris, and Fieldrunners. Maybe more when I see the whole selection. I love this Minis idea, even if it seems like it's copying Apple, it's beneficial nonetheless.

Also according to Destructoid (and another topic in this board), the 225 games will be new. So 210 will be PSP games, PSN exclusives, PS1 games, and 15 Minis.

That's awesome for one update, it's good to see Sony actually put some effort.

Well Sony have stated that the Go is NOT an upgrade from the 3000 - it's a separate product stream. Whether they choose to make a PSP 4000 (maybe with two sticks!?!?!) will, I suspect, depend on the sucess level of the Go and indeed the sales of games from PSN vs UMDs in the existing systems.

easy umd thing. if you already own UMD's obviously you already own a psp. so log into the PSN with both your devices at the same time, and put the UMD in the drive of your old psp. that copy of the umd gets registered to your PSN ID and bam. you can download it for your psp go without having to buy it again. easy. cmon sony. dont take a genius. also once that UMD gets registered for your PSN ID it can't be registered with anyone else's. so u cant just borrow your frined's games and do it.

I could see the pirates' mouthwatering appetite. I mean seriously what were they thinking? the current psps are already hurt enough by piracy and let me assure you all that this one is going down hell as well since it's software based system which could be hacked and make you wonder one day "my neighbor has this amazing library of games, poor me" . I care about this company cuz the more money it makes the greater games and systems in the future.
