I sent my ps3 to Sony last week on a Wednesday, because my ps3 would not read games. I was just wondering how long does this process take.(I have a 60gb ps3) Thanks

Mine took 2 days no joke. I received the box set on the 15th of july, 2008, sent it back to sony on the 15th. Got it back on the 17th, the day my warranty expired. Ain't that something. Only problem is it still doesnt work. So i have to go through the process again.
on the 11th of July 2008 i received Sonys box for my faulty PS3. I sent it out on the same day. Yesterday on the 21st of July 2008 I got my PS3 back. Mind you i tracked it on a daily basis. They had finished fixing it two days after it got their. UPS just decided to take my damn PS3 for a joy ride. It went from Mexico to somewhere in Texas then back to Mexico then to dallas Texas then it slowly started making its way to PA. When it got to PA on the 17th, UPS did another tour of the state. Which stopped at Harrisburg (2hrs away from me). I was so pissed. Oh on the 19th they woke up in the morning and drove it to my city and then i had to wait till Monday the 21st cos the one UPS ground receiver in this insy bitsy town decided they dont open on Saturdays. :cry:
PS: the delivery guy and i then played tag your it for the whole day till 7pm last night.

My 60GB PS3 had the same problem and was also out of warranty so I was expecting a repair charge but they told me it was a manufacturing fault and would be fixed free of charge. it took 7 weeks to get it back and in the end they sent me a different PS3. i was impressed with the service overall as they supplied free boxes for shipping unlike when my Xbox RROD'd and I had to use my own box (This is in Australia btw)
