but how many of those games are coming out this year? not to mention many of those are sequels, with Resistance2 and Motorstorm 2 being sequels of PS3 games!
Can anyone truly think that the PS3 will catch up to the 360 based on that lineup? It's an uphill battle for sony but I do know that with the FFXIII announcement it's going to delay my decision to purchase a PS3 for quite some time.
Don't forget MS has/had??? Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, and some other jrpgs. MS has a lot of support behind them this time around.
wackoss
Ever since the industry became popular, sequels are more in demand. This is considered widespread across all platforms. The issue of this was brought up in 2004 which was probably one of the most successful years in the gaming industry. But at the sametime critics were looking at the lack of innovation, and new IPs. Psychonauts was a title that wasn't played by many, but at the sametime highlighted for this specific topic. It was a new IP released amongst heavy hitters like Halo 2, and San Andreas during the holiday season. Psychonauts was a cult-classic and got lost in the fray.
With production cost of games today and the publisher mindset it is sometimes hard to release a new IP. For myself the Sony Press Conference didn't deliver a heavy hit. But just like the Microsoft Press Conference(excluding FFXIII from it) I think they were able to give the fans what they wanted. God of War III is highly anticiapated but I think Sony could have done a better job at delivering a wow factor for it. As far as MAG goes I hope to see future gameplay footage. With the Xbox 360's canceled Marvel Universe, the DC Universe game for myself was the best thing coming out of the show(call me crazy).
I know Microsoft's Press Conference had some weight with multiplatform games. Even though FFXIII is still on the PS3, I liked the crowds reaction to the Xbox 360 debut of the RPG. I was hoping to see something that extensive at the Sony presentation.
