I thought this was pretty exciting news. What does it mean for games? Probably not much right now, but it does give future games a little bit of boost, which is pretty cool IMO. I would love to see Bethesda patch in some draw distance fixes on consoles, but that may just be a pipe dream.

Hopefully games like Horizon: Zero Dawn and No Man's Sky will be able to take advantage of the extra memory to help boost their visuals and what not. If the PS4 struggles in anything right now, it's probably LOD on distant objects. I'd love to see more games come out that have virtually no pop-in when approaching distant objects.

What are your thoughts on this? Will we see an improvement in game quality in the near future on the already leading system?

@british12252015: Network seems fine to me... But yeah, they aren't adding another CPU to the console, they are unlocking a core that was previously dedicated to other tasks.

Im not sure how the cpu really boosts the graphics, I suppose it does, a computer game looks better than an old ps2 game. But theres also the cable to think about, I was astonished how much good the cable does for a game, Im talking about the console games.

Don't spread false information,

Your $5000 Monster Crystal Super Hyper Fast cable is the same as my $0.50 No-name HDMI cable.

@trpg: you do realise HDMI is digital with error correction? If something ain't right it gets corrected, even the error correction has error correction to ensure errors in the error correction are corrected. There is simply no way that the picture is any better with a thousand dollar cable.
