Everybody has a mascot except for Sony.Nintendo:Mario,Microsoft:MC. But what about us? Personally I think our mascot should be Nathan Drake. Who do you think it should be?

Well, lets think, now. You need a character that stands out, has several games out (or in the works), and have enough people own and play the game.
I say Nathan Hale from Resistence. Nathan Drake being a close second, Kratos is third.
I could get into Sora but the handheld systems have KH titles; same thing with Dante and the 360 release. The sack-boy/girl from LBP is a candidate. Well, yuo have my choices.
[QUOTE="l8bitz"][rant]Why is this being asked again? Like I stated prviously, Sony DOESN'T NEED a mascot. Mascots are the gimic of the past. Does the PC have a mascot? So why should the ps3?[/rant]MadmoneyJoHey, I didnt know, i just got here and Im 12
lol sorry, didn't mean to offend... I was hoping people would just skip over my response after reading the rant tag :P
You know the only thing Playstation ever had that could be considered a mascot was on PS1 with Crash Bandicoot. I don't know if anyone remembers the ads with the guy in the Crash suit going around talking to people. Anyway, he's obviously not anymore. For one, all but the first couple of games completely sucked, and two, it went multiplatform.
Drake could work, but he's a very realistic character, and "mascots" are usually semi-comical. Kind of like Master Chief, he's not really what I consider a mascot, since he is fairly dull. Mario, on the otherhand, has a lot of life and is definately comical/cartoony and embodies everything a mascot should be.
At the moment Ratchet and/or Clank are about the closest thing to what fits as a mascot. I would say Jak/Daxter, but ps3 doesn't seem to be getting one of their games, unless Naughty Dog is just waiting a couple years.
LOL 12psplaystation
wow, pointless post. why laugh at his age, we don't laugh at your age now do we? .. (lol 10)
deffinetly
1) Kratos
2) Sora
3) i agree with spyro just because i always remember those commercials and it saying playstation.

the crash games where good at 1 point. I still have crash team racing, and the orginal crash bandicoot games. My 5 year old son loves to play the new Crash of the Titans game. so those games still have something to offer.Although I dispise mascots, I would cast my vote for SOLID SNAKE for the following reasons:
1. He's super cool
2. He has (is going to have) a game on all 3 Sony Playstation consoles
3. He's recognizable by gamers everywhere
4. He's super cool
5. He's super cool

As a matter of fact, he is :P
Way back when it was Crash and Spryo, now if you technically look at it, you got Kratos, Ratchet, and Drake I guess.
EDIT: Solid Snake really can't be a mascot since Metal Gear didn't originate on a Sony system, plus Metal Gear games were on other systems after Metal Gear Solid for PS1 such as the one for Gameboy Color and Twin Snakes for Gamecube, and MGS2 Substance for Xbox. And soon Snake will be in Super Smash Bros. Brawl for Wii.

yeah agreed. i would of said Crash, if not for the same reason you mentioned above. they branched that franchise out to any console/system that was willing to publish a title. and they've all kinda sucked since the original. Crash 3 was pretty good (PS1).
i like the idea of Ratchet being a sort of Mascot, he appeals to most crowds, has that comical aspect that Crash had yet he's tough, with a large array of superweapons and cool moves. and he has Clank to give him even more 'cool factor'. Drake's appeared too late to be a real mascot now i rekon..
...I thought it would be the obvious decision to choose snake, but apparently not...
come on guys, you know snake is the obvious choice for a playstation mascot, remember Nathan Hale and Nathan Drake didn't exist before PS3, but Snake has had several games on Sony platforms, and only 2 ports that I can remember to other systems (MGS2 Substance - XBOX, MGS Twin Snakes - GCN)

:P lol seriously we dont need a mascot.... sony does a gr8 job of getting all kinds of games to everyone not just a main group of gamers i.e. the hairy plummer and the guy in a robot suit who shoots stuff.

oh, come on now guys. we dont KNOW that Mario is hairy. he could be from the north of Italy. they have less hair up there. not enough Parmesan cheese or something.
