Sonys PR Disaster

I was outraged to see that Sony, in their infinite wisdom have awarded 120 Londoners a free television for queing up to buy their latest console offering. The result of this is as follows - 120 very happys PS3 ownersand Millions of disgruntled gamers such as myself who have no PS3 as they have priced it way out of the general publics price range and probably won't buy one as it has received nothing but bad press from its conception. Do Sony honestly beleieve they have helped their situation? Surely it would have been better to give away a game with every purchase so that instead of this being a reward for those with nothing better to do than stand in Virgin Megastores basement for hours on end, it was an apology to the European Gamers for letting us down.

And before anybody comments, i already have an HDTV, so im not jealous, this is a complaint about Sony's PR!

I for one am impressed and see Sony actually gives a crap about those who buy their products. Did i say that games were better than TV's...NO! i said that a game per customer rather than a TV to a a select few who happened to be in London would be a more representative gesture!

Look, were all intelligent people here. Those of you getting defensive have obviously taken my point to heart. Most probably because you know there is truth there. Sony are throwing money at a bad situation. I am saying this is the wrong way of going about it.
