Sony's "Big Bang" Predictions?

All what i could come up with is the 40gig SKU.

what do you think or what do you want it to be

Here are the possibilities so far:

-40 gig SKU announced for $400

-Final Fantasy 7 Remake (exclusive for the PS3)

-Firmware update 2.00 (comes complete with everything a gamer could want)

-Firmware update. All PS2 and PS1 game backward compatibile with the 60 and 80 gig. Every game works with no problem(that would be a dream)

-A slew of new games are announced(team ico project, GOW 3, epic project,Bioshock PS3 with additional contentand a bioware project.

Anything else

It is going to be Sony's holiday pricing/bundle strategy and info about the new sku. Just so you know , a French magazine said "big bang" not Sony. Sony has said nothing yet.

I am guessing it is going to be a new sku announcement and some software announcement...there might be an announcement on a vod service (with movies and tv shows). But, sony really needs to have a couple of announcements if they are having a "big bang" announcement or people will be pissed and disappointed.

Rumor has it that bungie is leaving M$. Perhaps sony is teamming up with bungie.hwardrocks

Rumor has it that bungie is leaving M$. Perhaps sony is teamming up with bungie.hwardrocks

MS owns a majority stake in Bungie, therefore Bungie cannot come to or develop for Sony, HOWEVER, I feel that some employees from Bungie may leave now that Halo 3 has launched, and form there own independent studio which could lead to a PS3 exclusive. It's similar to how David Jaffe left Sony Santa Monica to form his own studio, except, he is still loyal to Sony.

I am hoping that the big news is an unveiling of the dualshock 3, including a price, release date, and a video demo of the contoller in action.

I think that it could be the announcement of a price drop... this isn't large news to a lot of us but will be to gamers still on the fence. I hope that they get a decent price and then advertise the hell out of R&C, Uncharted, Haze, & UT3. If they do that, they will be right on track as far as sales. (their lack of advertising is the main thing killing them right now... Lair, HS, & Warhawk should be getting way more ad time... gamers would be attracted to these type of games, regardless of Lair's scores).

But I think the announcement of the Home open beta is another strong possibility... and one that I would probably be looking more forward to personally.

I heard from a friend who knows some girlfriend of their cousin on their dad's side who works for Sony that they have a new model PS3 that comes in different colors, has a 120 gig HD, has an 8 track player built in, doubles as a police scanner and comes with a free blender.

Just what I'm being told.

It's funny how Firmware 2.0 is seen as this magic fix everything update that will make online perfect and give everyonefree candy.

Well, the name would suggest perhaps the release of Playstation Home. Also, I looked it up and it seems that Playstation Home is due out this fall, so that would fit.

I'm not sure how many people actually will give a crap about that, though, so maybe the rumored $400 PS3 will hit at that time as well?

Also, there is the Dual Shock 3, but if that's all it is, they need slapped in the collective face.

I still think Playstation Home makes the most sense since it would be the "beginning" of the PS3 "universe."
