[QUOTE="jdt532"]It seems to me that if Stringer and all the cry babies had their way Sony wouldn't of spent all that money developing the CELL processor, they wouldn't have put a Blu-Ray drive in the PS3 and maybe the standard version wouldn't have a HDD. Basically we'd have a minor upgrade over last gen., basically a 360 painted black with a PS3 logo on it....
Everyone wants a awesome powerful console but they don't want to pay for it... People need to remember the old saying you get what you pay for. I gladly paid $600 for the 60GB model and I'll never regret it cause I understand all the awesome technology in the PS3 is worth the price.
Absynthetic
there was an interview in gamesindustry.biz with Karraker i think it was
"we could have just made a Ps2 1.5 and played it safe with minor upgrades. But sony as a company has always been about taking risks and pushing the industry further"
I for one am dead certain I wouldnt have bought a Ps3 if it was just marginally better than the ps2.
Yeah well I wish this Karraker guy was the CEO of Sony instead of Stinger. I've read a handful of Stringer interviews and it just seems to me that he wishes the PS3 was more profitable and had a price tag that would make all the whiners out there happy. I don't think He cares how great a console it is just as long as it sells and makes money. As it stands right know Sony loses somewhere between $200 to $300 on each PS3 and I don't think that sits well with Stringer.
Then there's the constant backlash by all the cry babies over the PS3's price tag. Makes me wounder if all this will mean Stringer will have more of a say on how the next Playstation will be built and 5 or 6 years from now we will just get a PS3 1.5 that costs the "standard" $299.99... Will that make the whiners happy? I know it wont make me happy....
