Hey all I just have basically one question when it comes to purchasing a ps3 with an lcd tv. Do you all think 60hz is fine because they are a lot cheaper and I've heard PS3s can only output to 60hz anyway. I was considering a Sony Bravia but again I am asking here since you all probably know better than I do. Up till now, all I've had is a standard tv.

Basically 120hz tv's display fast movements more clearly. With 60hz tv's you may get some minor trails or blurring with fast movements.

But it's not a big deal, and a 60 will probably be just fine. The biggest difference between the 60's and 120's isn't actually the hz count, but the fact that they put their best technology into the high end models(the 120's), so they may end up having a better overall picture.

ps - it's a feature of the tv, not the ps3, I don't think the ps3 outputs hz (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

Do you think the 60hz would be fine on racing games? That's mainly the type of games I'll be playing. Also I thought I read somewhere that the PS3 was native 60hz and any time you play it on even if it is 120hz will downgrade or whatever itself to 60hz. I could be wrong but I am trying to research and research before I purchase because this is a big purchase.

LOL I was hoping so for sure and the fact that they have price dropped big time has helped influence me. Plus I started thinking, what would a Sony product most likely work better with and the obvious choice was another Sony product but this could be a completely silly idea. Here is the one I was considering http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10926914

I'm sure it would be fine. You'll be ahead of most people, who don't even have an HD tv for their ps3. The trails are only really noticable on things like fast moving sports tickers that move across the screen. Even then it's not really an issue.

Samsung are the best LCD tv's right now hands down, followed by LG and Sony (with LG's being a bit better)

Sony has really dropped the ball lately with their LCD's. They aren't bad, but they have fallen behind. They are not nearly as vibrant or accurate color-wise as Samsung and LG. I've done a lot of LCD shopping lately by the way.

This is a rough decision really. I want a big one but at the same time I have to sit about 3-5 feet away from it and I know big tvs start looking pixelated if you get too close, noticed this with my brother's very very nice plasma. It looked amazing about 9 feet away but you get about 3 feet from it and it looks like a kid smeared hands all over the screen lol, so blurry. I was thinking about a 37" and may just get 720p since I've heard 1080p is kind of pointless below 40". What sucks is I doubt Walmart will allow me to fully test out their tvs so that I can actually see how they would look like NOT hooked up to a splitter.

If you're going to be sitting 3-5 feet away, definitely get something smaller. A 32" would probably be perfect.

That one is very nice but is too big at the viewing distance I will be at. Man, standard tvs are so much easier to purchase.

TYVM sir! I am sure people are sick of hearing this question but is the only actually fine on PS3? I've heard a lot of talk about lag issues and that is the least thing I want.
