Yeah, even if the Vita has an English language setting, i doubt the games have. So without having any games on it, i could just as easily wait for the European release.

Not sure if the 3g with be compatible with US company's, and oversea shipping cost might tack on a extra 50-100$, and if there is a hardware problem will Sony honor the warranty in the USA ?
