No rumble
I understand no trophies, but no rumble? Weird. Anyone else think this is kind of weird? Coming from kenshinhimura16 (says he's played both), he says that NEITHER VERSION has rumble, so it's not just PS3. That's kind of dumb...

Oh well I think Mortal Kombat vs DC universe will be a lot better and it's exclusive to PS3.JustinCredible_
yeah, show me that and you get a cookie ;)
Oh well I think Mortal Kombat vs DC universe will be a lot better and it's exclusive to PS3.JustinCredible_actually its not exclusive dude, besides that game looks like trash imo compared to sc4 or sf4.

at least Midway has changed up Mortal Kombat over the years and tried new things.. Soul Calibur has been EXACTLY the same engine since the dreamcast only with a new coat of paint on it.

If it ain't broken why fix it? If only Midway followed that slogan.
While I'm sure not many will agree with me, I think trophies and achievements are pointless. They are never for things that you will accomplish with normal good gameplay, they are pointless things like shoot a foe in the same foot 3x, or some nonsense like that. I really dont get the fascination, its amazing, great graphics, Soul Calibur always has great gameplay, online play, create a character, interesting guest appearances, funny how that pales in comparison with trophies.Sepewrath
ur looking at it the wrong way the way u look at it yes it is pointless
but its adds replayability to the game if ur one of those people who one 100% on every game so yea i think they are great

the other side of that coin would be, "If it ain't broke, why buy it again?"

Yea i totally get the no trophies but no rumble is just lazy on their part.MaForceSame here, buddy. :D Lazy devs are dumb.

I think that MK Vs. DC Universe will be for the casual gamers. Just to have fun, you know? And, of course. Soul Calibur is for the extremists. The: "OMG TEH COMBO", gamers. Yeaaaah. Them. -_-[QUOTE="whoozwah"][QUOTE="LuckyLy"]If it ain't broken why fix it? If only Midway followed that slogan.

I can certainly see your point here. It's nice to have something, anything really, to do after the mainstay of the gameplay has been milked for all it's worth.
(not aimed at Nukku starting........now) I think people are taking this a bit far. For one, it's a fighting game, we're not playing this over and over for its story, to be honest. It's a fighting game. The re-playability is found in mastering different characters with their different styles. So you don't get some pointless trophy, so what, really? Is that gonna hold you back form getting that great job? Is that one less thing to put on your resume? (please say no.) Trophies are nice, but much like great graphics they can't make up for a crappy game, and they can't make a crappy game good. Soul Calibur has a great track, and if you pass up on it b/c of a lack of silly trophies or rumble (I don't even want to think about why..........you pervert:P ) you are seriously depriving yourselves for a rather silly reason.
I could see if this was an adventure game (ala Myst) where you really only get one playthrough and trophies would greatly benefit it in that respect, but we're at almost the exact opposite extreme. It takes but a handful of minutes to beat a fighting game, but we play them for hours none the less (pre-trophies/achievements) b/c they are supposed to be that way. We play through with multiple/every character. Find the one we like, up the difficulty, and challenge ourselves and that is exactly the point. Same with sports games. Would you not purchase a sports game b/c you don't get a trophy with every exhibition match?
Weak. Looks like I'll be getting the other version. I want Vader, but oh well... I like Yoda, too. He's a fast little one in this game. :)
LMAO at the people complaining about rumble... who the hell plays a fighting game with a controller:?Kingaerosol
People like me I suppose. First game I got for my SNES was SFII:Turbo, and I played the living crap out of it. I'm much more comfortable using a standard D-Pad controller than an arcade stick.

As crappy as MK is and has always been, you are right. They have given their fans new ideas and tried to improve the game.SC has been the same since Soul Blade on the PSX and Namco has been rehashing the series for a decade.Fighting games in general are played out now and have not evolved since Street Fighter 2.I don't get why anyone even gets excited for any fighter this day in age, they are boring now.
Yea i totally get the no trophies but no rumble is just lazy on their part.MaForce
People saying they understand there being no trophies are kinda dumb and nieve, if they can go to the trople of making acheivments for the Xbox version, then why no trophies for the PS3 version?
No trophies or in game musicNo rumble
I understand no trophies, but no rumble? Weird. Anyone else think this is kind of weird?Chaos_Bladez
For some weird reason, neither version has Rumble. Ive played both (PS3 one looks a little bit better and loads 3 times faster after the install thats optional). I suppose that they will add it in an update this week or the next.
Anyway, its not something that bothers me, since whenever I game, I do it for many hours, I always turn off the rumble, since it increases the chances of getting carpal tunnel issues.

People who think that are dumb, huh?:|
The fact is that Sony got trophies out ridiculously late, and games that release weeks after Sony delivered trophies can't be expected to ship with trophies. Soul Calibur has probably been done for a number of weeks, it's just been in testing and polish phase.
It's not like developers can flip a switch and implement trophies. They have to make the actual trophies up, draw them, add them in, make sure they unlock properly and timely, and make sure they level you up properly, etc.
Even if they copy achievements, they still have to make the trophy art, get the unlock time down, the leveling up right....it's not like it's just as simple as pushing a button.
If anyone is to blame, it's Sony. Sony has taken way too long to implement features like this, and gamers cannot expect that trophies can be added into every game immediately, especially during this time of year when developers were getting ready for E3, not to mention their already busy development schedule.
Games coming out this Fall and beyond certainly should include trophies, but given how long it took Sony to get a now standard feature out, they are the only one to blame.
