Well they do have the engine ready to go and 2 - 1/2 years to work with, Sounds about right but we'll see...

If I don't see a game announcement trailer at E3, I doubt we'll see it that soon...

They might as well not call it God of War considering Kratos is probably not the main character.

God of War should be left alone. Before I even get that slight boost of interest, I will await new from Sony themselves or a more in depth article reliable article. I still think even though 3 left us with a slight cliffhanger, we would be better off as is.

Also, I would much rather a game based on Zeus's rise to power rather than another one with Kratos.

I've not played GoW 3 but from what I've understood, I thought GoW 3 was the last one in the series? Hopefully they'll make a new God of War trilogy with the superior mythology, the norse.

even though god of war 3 was the last god of war of the trilogy i knew they couldnt let kratos die, i mean the graphics and gameplay was soo smooth and awesome, that they couldnt just make ONE god of war game on ps3. im kinda glad, i hope it see more legit info from sony, hopefully they release somethin

If you play as Kratos then i'm not interested, the series should have ending at GoW 3. I'd rather them work on a new IP.

Did anybody play God Of War: Ghost Of Sparta on PSP??? I might go on youtube.com to see how that one ends... I'm assuming GOW4 will take off from where that one ends because I'm pretty sure that one took off from where GOW3 ended... Athena is still lurking around and her and Kratos never really threw down yet in a EPIC battle... Granted she took the blade of olympus from Kratos to protect Zeus at the end of GOW2 but it could be a Obi Wan sceneiro where Kratos made her stronger by killing her... Remember she wasn't too happy with what happened at the end of GOW3...

NM just watched the ending of Ghost of Sparta and it looks it it takes place inbetween GOW and GOW 2 but I could be wrong...

Ghost of Sparta is chronologically in between God of War 1 and God of War 2. The chronological ordering of the games is:

God of War: Chains of Olympus (PSP)

God of War 1 (PS2)

God of War: Ghost of Sparta (PSP)

God of War: Betrayal (mobile phone game)

God of War 2 (PS2)

God of War 3 (PS3)

The ending of GoW3 and the comments from the developers implies that Kratos' story is now over and that they will be heading in another direction. It is considered the conclusion of Kratos' trilogy, but, as they've stated, it doesn't spell the end of the franchise.

I also heard that there was a job listing for something to do with multiplayer. God of War doesn't need multiplayer, developers need to understand that not every single game needs it.

If it doesn't detract from the single player, I could care less. There are plenty of games with multiplayer features that have perfectly good single player modes. Uncharted 2, Grand Theft Auto 4, Metal Gear Solid 4, etc. Now if they have a game that features an 8 hour single player mode and multiplayer, I might be annoyed because their focus was split and it may have been detrimental to the single player. GoW3 had a very short single player mode and I was annoyed as hell about that. So I'm hoping they do well in terms of content.

I don't think they're thinking str8 up multiplayer but maybe a co-op campaign...

Multiplayer sounds too much like a Mortal kombat type thing...

Imagine a Co-op hack and slash campaign that would be fresh with AAA graphics and storylike TMNT back in the day and no I'm not talking about that Dynasty Warriors garbage...

I'm kinda glad, I love everything about GoW. But yeah as others mentioned, if they keep Kratos out of it that would be cool. His story should have ended by GoW III.

Remember Kratos banged Aphrodite in GOW3... It's possible he could've impregnanted her remember they didn't make rubbers or birth control back in the day, honestly why would they stop all the carnage all of a sudden just so Kratos could get his rocks off...??? Maybe their is a new character... Kratos and Aphrodite's son...

Well, the point is moreso that Kratos will be nonplayable then whether he'd be in the game or not. Considering the end of GoW3, I would consider it disappointing if Kratos didn't make an appearance.

If this is true, then I hope they do not go the route of GoW3. GoW3 wasn't that great of a game.

You guys do realize that Kratos has a brother right? The most sensible thing is to start his story.

LMAO @ the first comment. "Kratos was bald since 7." Yeah, people seem to forget about him. He's super pissed at Kratos and wants revenge so it'd be a good pickup point.

I haven't played the GoW PSP games but didn't Deimos
die in Ghost of Sparta? According to the story timeline, Ghost of Sparta took place between GoW1 and Gow2. So there is virtually no way he can be in the games unless they do a prequel to GoW1.

Virtually no way? I disagree. Kratos has come back from the underworld like 31859723489562 times. Hades is dead and there's no one to stop him from coming back.
Umm...
Its only because Kratos escaped in the first game from the underworld but I can't remember if he did in other games. That doesn't make sense though. If Hades dies but Deimos can come back, then why not have all the gods come back alive too if we're going that route? :P
Scratch that last post. This is the best idea so far, then we can finally get to go against Kratos! Its practically the only thing left to do.

I like God of War, but I don't know how I feel about GOW4. I'll probably get it, but I won't be stoked for it.
