The supposed big bang announcement was debunked by Sony not long after the rumors of it happening surfaced. It appears that it was nothing more then a rumor that obviously didn't come true because it was slated for yesterday.
Still, look for some sort of announcement from Sony soon regarding the 40gb SKU here in the US.

Obviously SONY didn't lie for one lol. They denied that there was an announcement the day after the rumors were going around, except most people kept it up because sony denies everything but they come true examples = price drop ---- 40 gig
Ahhh...the wonderful world of internet rumors...don't believe everything you read. Just like all the talk of Update 2.0, I'll believe it when I see it.
as i said earliar sony had said nothing of the price cut and that was rumoured long before it was announced so nearly all internet rumour have a bit of truth in them
