A simple google search would tell you.
Anyway, here's my list:
Final Fantasy X and XII, Jak 3 (and the whole Jak series), Shadow of the Colossus, God of War I and II, Kingdom Hearts I and II, GTA: San Andreas (also Vice City), Persona 3 and 4, Resident Evil 4, DMC 3, Hitman series, Onimusha series, Prince of Persia series, Drakengard series, Psi-Ops, NFS: Underground, Underground 2 and Most Wanted, Project Snowblind, Splinter Cell series, MGS series, Silent Hill series, Xenosaga series.
A simple search could show you that, but it was basically the sheer quality and quantity of games, as well as the many titles that revolutionized gaming (GTA III, Halo, Half-Life 2, Silent Hill 2, Resident Evil 4, etc.)
What made the last-gen great was lack of DLC, and patching. You knew that when a game was shipped, it either worked or it didn't, which made devs work a little harder to get it right before pressing to disc.
What made the last generation of gaming so great was the ridiculous glut of games. The PS2 had just an obscene library of games to choose from, across all genres, and so, so many of them were extraordinary experiences unlike anything we'd had in previous generations. And even though the XBox didn't get a fair shake, it pretty much single-handedly ushered in the era of FPS games on consoles with Halo, a game that really was as close to perfection as will ever be released.
