I was wondering what sort of speakers can I get for my PS3.. currently, the sound system I use for my laptop doesn't work because it plugs into my laptops head-phone jack... (its a sound system with sub woofer, etc)..
my DVD players 5.1 system doesn't work with my PS3 as the speakers plug directly into the DVD player it'self..
So what kind of speakers am I looking for.. what specific things do I need to look for..
Any home theater system that you can buy at best buy will be great for your ps3 and you can plug in all your other stuff as well. They can be a little expensive but they are well worth the money

You first need to buy a receiver, and then look at the 5.1 speakers that fit the receiver you buy. Never buy an HTIB unless you dont care about audio quality.

dude youre already good to go with the system you have now. There's no way to plug speakers into the ps3 w/out a receiver, and you already have a 5.1 system so there's no reason to waste your money on another system.
 All you need is an optical cable to hook the two up, or, if your system doesn't support optical, then just hook up the stereo rca cables that came w/ your ps3 and turn on the DPL II on your ht system.
 Also, you'll need to turn the optical port on on your ps3, just go to sound settings and its right there
Consider me a "n00b" when it comes to this... put it this way... my PS3 will be used for bluray movies.. so I want the sound to be good, you know? 5.1 system is fine... but I was hoping for like HD AUDIO if that's possible... thanks..
So.. I will just go into like PC WORLD and ask them for a reciever and a 5.1 sound system...? and all will be well?
