I live in dubai for past 15 years and i was looking forward to this game but when i played the demo all the buildings are fake unlike the trailer which showed the actual skyline of dubai. makes me wonder if they didnt get the rights from the government of Dubai. the gaming media has overlooked this!!

How old are you? Geez.

It's not about rights, I don't think they need rights and even if they did, I'm pretty sure they didn't apply for them. They're not gonna model the game world to be an exact replica of the real one. Unless the game world is one of the main features of the game (example L.A Noire) the developers won't bother. There are MANY games which take place in a "real" city but it's entirely different from the city itself. There was no need to make a big deal out of it, and I'm sure that the Gamespot editors won't really be interested in such a trivial issue.

Oh the irony. I'm from the Middle East buddy (I live in Canada though) and I lived in Dubai for 2 years. Screw it, even if I were from the states, what does that have to do with anything? You're making such a big deal out of such a minor thing and calling out for the editors, something I can imagine only a child would do, no offense. I don't mean any insult with that really just explaining what I thought when I read the topic.

It would take way to much effort to painstakingly re-create the Dubai skyline. Particularly, as you're one of the few who'd notice, OP.

Agree with him xD The developers made the game action in Dubay but they aren't obliged to do an exact copy of it, it has no point for the story or the game itself. And attention gamespot editors? You're doing this wrong... xD

Who cares about it anyway? There are many games which take place in a "real city" but the devs don't make an exact replica of the city. That would be too time-consuming. The fact that the trailer had the real skyline is obviously because they didn't want to show the people that they are too lazy to add every inch of detail to their Dubai.

sorry if i offended anyone. But the developers should respect the gamers who pay so much of money for the game in the way of the actual disc and dlc's compared to the 90s where nintendos and segas had value for your buck

There are no rights involved to depict real locations and buildings.

.

Nintendo and Sega! Bang for your buck!?!?! Not a chance man, have you EVER been to the Emerald Hill Zone in Sonic? We I lived there for 67 years and I can tell you that Sega got the architecture 100% WRONG! So wrong I had to seek therapy.....it was endless, my mind still hasn't recovered. Just back away from this one, that is my only advice.

my point is game developers today have the capacity to copy the exact skyline of a city, unless of course any law from that country bans them from that. It will give a more authentic experience to the gamer. None of the gamers objected to the concept of 30 $ dlc from a particular developer. My point is developers are taking advantage of the silence of the gamers. I feel unless a gaming media is unbiased this is worthy of some editorial attention period.

No, they really don't. Do you know how much time it would take to carefully reconstruct everything to scale? Especially buildings your on about which seem quite extensive (largest building there etc). Plus, how would this fit their game, because they'd have to create a game for the city, not creating a city for the game, thus a lot of their mechanics might not work and a lot of their gameplay would have to fit around a city already made. Also, I dont think that can be a law. Also they arent taking advantage. No-one wants this but you. Also, this deserves no attention. Also, your a hypocrite by accusing Americans of stereotyping and then stereotyping them. Which is hypocritical. Also, whats bad about a fictional city? Nothing, really. No-ones complained about GTA before, or Uncharted, or any other game ever. Ever. Because the effort and time it would take to reconstruct it far outweighs the positives. Also - let's face it, you have no argument here. I like the word also.

Wow. You are the ignorant one here. Just because you don't agree with America's GOVERNMENT, don't assume everyone who lives under said government is a war-monger red-neck gun-toting jackanape. You're 28 and know ****-all about the world. I've been to Dubai, have you been to Green Bay??? C'mon over, any time. I'd be glad to show you around and introduce you to PLENTY American citizens you'd get along with.

Bro tell me about it. I live in Las Vegas and when I played Dead Rising 2 and Fallout: New Vegas I was like WTF is this!! Seriously Dubai looks awesome I would visit that place. Maybe the devs wanted to save money or a copyright issue popped up, never know.

Actually, it's kind of dumb to just barge into someone else's post and ask your own off-topic questions. Make another topic and I'm sure you'll get tons of suggestions.
