I was somewhat impressed with it. It's not bringing anything new to the shooter platform "BUT" the gameplay was solid and the story is "KINDA" interesting IMO. If I wasn't getting GR: Future Soldier I could see myself buying Spec Ops on its' release day. So for now it's going on my list of bargain-ben tittles.....your thoughts ??

I don't understand why they would reboot the franchise. The original games weren't good.

Probably that's the point, to create a new and better image gamers have from orginal games. The game looks nice but i ain't buying it, more interesting games coming out ^^

the demo went too long and exposed it's flaws. the a.i. is terrible and there's no way to be tactical. i took out 2 guys on stairs with a silenced gun, and yet somehow all the people below me still knew i was coming

I don't get it, you can tell your guys to kill some enemies, but you CAN'T tell them to move somewhere or stay in one spot? Not exactly tacticle, i think the story is kinda interesting however so i think this will be a rent for me unless there is some addicting MP. Also, i don't like the way your guy vaults over objects, lifts his leg too high (i know thats being picky, but we have to these days, surely?)

lol....Yeah, the AI isn't the brightest, but it still plays pretty solid. I wasn't looking at this as a tactical game but more of just a fun shooter with an interesting story.

I didn't care for it at all.

EDIT: I do have to say, on the positive side, that the game looks (graphically) awesome. I thought the shooting was fairly satisfying. Honestly, I had been drooling over this game based on trailers, etc. and the demo seemed to fall short of the potential shown in footage and stuff on gametrailers.com (I subscribe to it through iTunes, tiz awesome!)

:D

I do want to add that I don't think the game sucks by any stretch of the imagination, and if it appeals to you then I say buy it! The title looks to be head-above it's predecessors, most-certainly!

;)

I actually wrote a demo review for it here. You nailed what I wrote pretty much. The game overall was better than I had thought it be. The marking of enemies using your squad and using sand as a tactical advantage was nice gameplay elements. The game waan't bad at all, just nothing new like you said.

^

I went back and played the demo again because I was lazy and didn't want to get up to change the disc, and I have changed my opinion of it to "Buy from the Bargain Bin For-Sure".

When it hits under $20, I'd buy it. It's a lot more solid than I thought the first time I played it through. Must have been tired.
