To improve my lag on cod4 i put my ps3 in to DMZ, which i haven't tried since putting it in to DMZ. But earlier on i downloaded the motorstorm demo, which is about 650mb and i took about an hour an a half.

Afterwards i went to speedtest.net and these are the results:

PC(wired)
Down: 2490
up:380

ps3(wireless)
Down:1420
up:failed

Any ideas about how to increase the speed i know it wont go as fast becuase its wireless, but anybody know why the upload just failed?

Thanks

Honestly, I'd talk to my ISP cable company about that cause those are really low number. They are going to try to blame it on the router since the wire goes from the wall to the modem to the router then to your comp but just bypass it and have them see why it's so low. Should be getting at least 4megs on the comp at the least.

And any tips to reduce lag in cod4 as much as possible?

Well, if you goto internet connection status on settings on your PS3 Im almost positive you're running NAT3, which is not good. You should set up a static IP and foward your ports on your router to get NAT2. It sounds confusing but it takes 10 mins to do and I got 21megs d/l and 4megs u/l. Here's step by step guide, it's on a Tekken site but is for all PS3 online games.

just putting your static in DMZ don't solve everything, that's a myth. Id enter the TCP and UPD port ranges manually. Along with enabling DMZ, yes UPnP should be enabled.

^that. 2.5meg d/l during anytime of day isn't acceptable for any ISP. You might have old cables that need to be replaced or are cut etc.. something with the actuall hardware. That's super slow.

It depends where you live. I have 1.5 MB/s up here in Canada. He could live anywhere.

Wow man I would think that barely passes as cable/DSL internet we average 12-14 around here. But then again Japan and UK have like 100megs so you're right.

Well im actually from the UK and the only people that get that sort of speed is people in london that have fibre optic. (which i don't, i have ADSL). and my connection is upto 8mb. ISPs in the UK have a bad reputation of saying upto whatever speed but no one ever gets the max.

I think it's Australia w/ 100mb across the country. I forget most countries outside the US have better connection than we do.

I get 21mb d/l 4mb u/l on ps3 speed test. Wired from a router. I followed the Tekken guide though too. My ping is usually below 30ms

I looked through the tekken guide and left my ps3 in DMZ and forwarded all the ports that is in the guide for both inbound and out-bound services.

I then tried a speedtest and the upload still failed, any ideas?

And will this affect me in anyway, reducing lag and the like?
