Spiderman 3 deserves an 8.0 easily!

To be honest when I saw the score that the game got I couldn't belive my eyes. I decided not to get Spiderman 3 because it got such a low score so I tought that it couldn't be good right? Well I was wrong.  Yesterday may girlfriend comes home and she suprised me with Spiderman 3 the game. I was verry happy but I knew that the game will be bad so I wasn't expecting anything from it. Well I was supprised how great Spiderman 3 is in fact.  It has great grapichs has a lots of different missions and interesting "storyes"  yeah....there is 10 different stories including the movies so if you want you can just play the missions that's involved with the movie and they do tie together well.  I didn't spend to much time playing it....maybe 4hours or so but from what I have experienced it's a great game that should have gotten an 8.0 at least!! If you are a Spiderman fan or you liked Spiderman 2 on the PS2 than this game is a must have. The swinging is great....the city is huge!! There are so many things to explore. I live in NYC so it's so cool to go to let's say Times Square virtualy and see how much different it is from real life. The score 6.6 doesn't do justice to that game. Maybe Alex shouldn't have evaluated this game....maybe someone else would have. This is just another thing for me that prooves that you absolutley can't trust GameSpot when they score a game.

I suggest to everyone to at least give it a shoot! Rent it or buy it whatever you want but just try this game! You won't be dissapointed.  I mean....how bad it can be to swing around in NYC in next-gen graphics right??

Everything this game tries to do bites of other recently released games.....the context actions are clearly God of War, and the 3 crime syndicates are derived from Crackdown. Both Crackdown and GoW do both things way better which is a shame because if you are going to rip-off a game mechanic and your main character is Spider-Man, there should be no reason for it to suck...or for the frame rate to drop to single digits.

Try doing the first Goblin scene where Peter gets attacked by the Goblin and tell me that segment is fun and actually mean it.

You might be right!! as I said I just played 4 hours of it but it was full fun! and I had no framerate problems at all! Everything worked fine. Well I'll try to beat this game and then see what I think about it!

At first I was a bit shocked at the score thinking this is a great game, but as you play you come to realize it's a very fair score. The game is still fun and I'm still having a lot of fun with it, but the framerate does dip quite a bit. And as someone else pointed out the first fight with the goblin blew! The fight with the Sandman though was awesome. The game does have it's ups and downs, overall though I don't regret the purchase. You just need to keep in mind some people will not enjoy this game. If you were a fan of the second one you will love this one, if not don't bother.

I gave it a 6.5. Why, the graphics are not good. They are great for a PS2 game but not a PS3 game. The camera is just horrible and I played it for about 3 hours and I gave up in frustration. The game just feels dated. I agree with another poster that said that if you liked Spderman 2 on the PS2 game you will love this game. I'm just glad that I rented it and didn't buy it.

With that said, if you like the game then don't worry about what anyone else says. Just be happy you enjoy it.

This is just another thing for me that prooves that you absolutley can't trust GameSpot when they score a game.

ummm...no 7 and 8 are very far apart when you are considering the rating for a game.

This is making me want to rent it or buy it used. Doesn't sound like it's worth the full price though.

What are you talking about Treyarch only developed Spider-Man 3 for the XBOX360 and ported it to the PC and PS3.  Vicarious Visions developed the other crappier versions of the game (Wii/PS2)  Activision only published the game.

My g/f works for GameStop so I don't have to put money down to see how bad this game is, I can borrow it for free.  I won't mind only having it for a few days because the best parts of the games were webslinging anyways.

Uhh ya considering thats what they did.  The reason for this is because third party developers havant tapped into the power of the ps3 so when they have multi plat games they create it on the 360 and port it to other platforms such as the ps3.  i hope this changes soon and develpers get off their lazy asses and start pulling all the stops on the ps3.
