Splinter Cell: Conviction on PS3 - we tell you when

There's been a lot of talk as to when, and even if,Splinter Cell: Convictionwill get released on PlayStation 3. First the unannouncedPS3 version popped up on a couple of Ubisoft resumes, only to be immediately removed. Then just todayVG247 asked a Ubi execwhen/if the PS3 will see Conviction. To which he responded with the typical corporate "I dunno/maybe/can't say?"

Well, you PS3 owners needn't sulk any longer - GamesRadar can confirm that there's a 99.999% chance Splinter Cell: Conviction will definitely hit the PS3, and with a sense of history, we can even predict when!

Ask yourself this: How often does Ubisoft releaseanythingexclusively? Rarely. When has Splinter Cellnotlanded on a PlayStation console? Never. Has Splinter Cell ever appeared on Xbox as atimedexclusive? Several times! Let's look at some US releasedates:

*We'reaware Double Agent came out on 360 before the PS3 actually existed, and also that itcame out on PS2 at around the same time. But we're still including it to give us a worst case scenario.

Okay, once we add up the number of days in between the Xbox and PlayStation releasedates, we can start to get a better idea of what Splinter Cell: Conviction's inevitable release date will be on PS3!

I have't played any of the previous Splinter Cell games, but I really want to check this one out for some reason.

Oh also, a little off the main topic, does anyone recommend the previous game in the series? I might pick up Double Agent if people say it's worth the money and a good game, never knew it existed haha.

I played the demo, it is cool, but I don't know if I would pay full price for it. I like that multiple targeting system for doing melee attacks. There is a chance that it might come to PS3, but I think each system is entitled to it's own games and right now the 360 could use some more exclusives. The PS3 has come been coming out with some pretty good ones the past couple of months. 3D Dot Heroes and Mod Nation Racers will probably be the last of the software push for a while, which is ok because there has been a lot software.

There has been MAG, Yakuza 3, White Knight Chronicles, Last Rebellion, Star Ocean, FF 13, God of War 3, and Heavy Rain. For the first quarter of the year that is a lot of software exclusive to one system. It's not a big deal if PS3 does not get the game.

I am not trying to dis splinter cell fans but really I think exclusives are important to all systems and we need them.

I played 2 previous SC games (the first one and CT)but didnt get into them, however I'm interested in SCC since the game takes a new direction (less steath, more action).

The main story is only 5hrs, so even if it were to come to the PS3, I would not buy it. Sad too because I was all over this game at E3.

Actually, I thought that Double Agent was still a great game. It really made you feel urgent all the time at the safehouse. Also, you can actually kill people and get points.

By end of Q3 or holiday 2010...

I was just namin games that have come out on PS3 which are rather good. Most of the games I mentioned are exclusive I did not mean to imply that Star Ocean was exclusive. It does however have exclusive content and FF 13 is on only 1 disc. All I am saying is that I can't believe there are still threads about wanting games to come to the PS3 when there are plenty of games on the system.
