Splitting the PS3 community?

With the unforeseen problem today is it possible that the PS3 slim owners and the OG PS3 owners will see a split in community?

Seeing as how today has showed us that the original PS3's has some problem's that the new slims didnt encounter. Might it be that some other problems that we do not yet know about exist in the original PS3?

instead of being able to playSOME PS2 and PS1games on my PS3 I can play ALL PS2 and PS1 games on my PS2 and PS1, which we still have because we crafted them out of the Phat PS3 that sucked so bad :P8)

the PS3 will get the same faith as the chinese democracy in WW2. We will have a civil war we will be weak the Xbots will attack we get to defeat them and get them off our land one will be weakened the other will be strong the civil war will ignite again and the weak one will be destroyed and retreat to taiwan

I can play ALL my PS2 and PS1 games on my amazing playstation because it still includes the original hardware from the PS2 :)

All of it seamlessly and with more usb and memory card slots :)

Ill say it again. The PS3 slim is not shiny, thus it fails.
