So while ago I I finished Uncharted 3, being a fan of the series and playing the other 2, I was hugely disappointed with the end of U3 the game spends 6h or so building up momentum, and then instead of ending with a bang it ends like somewhat like this:

In all seriousness, I kept asking my self if it was really over.... Still an amazing game tho, just with a really bad ending.

Food for Thought

Lame game, lame ending, way too much filler.

Really? I mean the game ends in a QTE, and you never actually get to see the real djinies, the ones you fight are all illusions, I really like the story and the gameplay but the end was very lame.

that is because the djinns never existed.... the water was tainted with a mystical energy and that caused anyone that drank it to hallucinate and see them. the mystical component of Uncharted 3 was the water... not the djinns. i realize that is sort of a step back from Yetis and a curse, but that is what it was. i thought the game was fantastic.

Didn't enjoy the game as much as the first two, agree with a poster above that there was much more filler than enjoyable game play :/ Hoping ND end the series there before it gets worse and tarnishes the series' reputation!

Supposedly there was a real Djinn(Finally figure how to spell it) inside that big container they were trying to pull out of the water, it was the thing that was tainting the water and giving it the hallucinogenic properties, but yeah it was a step back in the series, plus I think the game was shorter too since I finished it in 2 sittings, around 7h.

The Uncharted series was a never a series with mystical / paranormal elements in it to begin with. Everything which seams paranormal it the game can be explained rationally.

Hmmmm the first was about crazy zombies and the second was a mystical city which had crazy creatures chasing you at the end and your saying that :S have you played the games.

on topic I agree i found the ending of the game very disappointing, it was pretty much a QTE Fight and i mean the whole thing just wasn't put together very well. half way through uncharted 3 the creators went off and did the last of us so this could explain it.The villians seemed to be 1 step ahead all the time and yet the final part they got took out in pretty much a load of cut scenes. There was a lot of filler and alot of things just weren't really explained at all, i also felt from around half way through that it was about to end, it was also a short game, well it felt that way, i think it was about the same as uncharted to but i feel as tho from the half way mark they were already ending the game unlike uncharted 2 felt like it had a beginning middle an end, uncharted 3 was more like a beginning a history lesson then a pro longed ending. it also felt like they took the best bits of uncharted to and used the same method with a different back drop, ie the climbing up a falling train, with the capsized ship pretty much the same.

wut?

maybe you can say that about the first and third game... but uncharted 2 had yeti's.... there is no doubt about it, they were yeti's. there is no rational way to explain that.

the series is patterned off of the indiana jones movies. they take folk lore and make it real, with a believable twist. the stuff you see in the games is not meant to be explained rationally... it is meant to inspire a feeling of wonder and mystery.

perhaps you have missed the whole point of these games....

i enjoyed uncharted 2 more because it had a lot more difference in graphics as compared to uncharted: drake's fortune. from the train sequence to the himalayan part in uncharted 2 i was glued into the game O_O. i loved to play the dockyard part in uncharted 3 and yes the ending didn't live upto the mark and was dissapointing indeed :\

I have the Uncharted 3 Official Strategy Guide and one of its last chapters contains explanations by the developers for all of the paranormal creatures you see in the Uncharted series, including the "yetis".

I found U3 to be the easiest of the three. U2 was frustratingly hard especially on Crushing at the very end but it was satisfying to beat it and knock out the Plat for it. I haven't even bothered to get the plat for U3 even tho I've beaten it on Crushing. It was just ok. U2 was by far the best in the trilogy.

There definitely could have been more to the ending. Overall I enjoyed the game though.

The first half of the game was incredible. The second half devolved into a boring military shooter.

The problem with Uncharted 3's story is that it's very similar to Unc1 and nearly identical to Unc2.

  1. Nathan Drake and his friends hunt for treasure
  2. Another organization follows him and races him to it
  3. Drake finds out the treasure is cursed and must not be found
  4. Nathan's friends are kidnapped and he must free them
  5. The bad guy gets screwed over and it's a happy ending

I can understand this plot once or twice, but three times in a row is way too predictable.

Actually, they were explained the game. The yetis were just the dressed up guardians of Shambhala.

What I really liked in 3 was how Nathan Drake and Sully come to be together it gives more depth to the characters yet it was't executed without faults, agree with most, 3 went of rail around middle to end, its just disappointing, U2 is easily the best of all, also Uncharted series is on a Fringe, it tries to make folk stories believable in current age (just like Tomb Raider), I like the Mystical influence to it, it is very well done in 1 and 2 its the series pinnacle, while 3 just fails to capture that feel, maybe because it didn't push the envelope like 2 did, still I'm very disappointing, I'm curious about Golden Abyss tho, I actually have it on Plus but no Vita to play it on xD, will buy one together with the PS4.

Actually, they were explained the game. The yetis were just the dressed up guardians of Shambhala.

"The ShambhalaGuardians are supernatural creatures that appear in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. They were humans (most likely ancient Tibetans) that transformed when they ingested the resin/sap of the Tree of Life. They are tasked with stopping anyone who is close to finding or trespasses into the lost city of Shambhala."

It's been a long time since I finished the game, I can't even recall the ending. I've played all Uncharted games on 3-4 days and I've finished them all so I have the games kind of mixed in my head.
