After FFXIII and XIII-2 I was hoping that this game was canceled and Square Enix would go bankrupt since they have not made a great game for 10+ years now.

Versus is going to suck ass.

I just don't want to look forward to the game, think it will be great and then it sucks. Also, I am disappointed with the combat and wish ATB turn based would return along with all the other classic traditional FF elements such as world map, airship, sidequests, etc.

Gaming blogs trying to lure in more traffic, which is why I never give them the satisfaction by clicking the links.

That being said, sometimes rumors can have its merits with some good detective work ie. scrutinizing over individual developer's resume for unannounced games.

This is pretty much how I feel. I stopped caring about FF a long time ago. There are soooo many superior RPG's that don't get enough recognition because SquareEnix's awful games overshadow them for some unknown reason. The FF versus XIII cast of characters look less like FF party members and more like the gay yakuza.

It's not that we want the game to suck, it's that it is being made by Fail Enix, so it is confirmed to suck. I'd much rather it be canceled than SE botch FF again. I understand where you're coming from, but at least be reasonable of which company you want to fail. SE's last great game was ff12. That's not that long ago, and for the most part that was well recieved. Ff13...yeah that was boring as hell. The graphics was there, but nothing else really. NOW, Rare is the company i want to fail the most, b/c they don't even have the original great devs that founded the company in the first place. But, when I say "fail" the most, I don't even mean that, cuz theere still is some talent there

I think FFXIII was pretty meh but FFXIII-2 is completely different. The gamplay is a lot more tense since you have more freedom and customization options. I know some of you guys wish that games would focus more on gameplay and fun factor, now this comes along and many still call it crap because of characters and graphics. Just because videogames are your favorite hobby doesn't mean games are trying to please you to the highest extent possible. In other words, be resonable.

Give it 5 years and everyone will be saying how great XIII was; XII got slaughtered at the time and now some are touting it as one of the best.

Erm, there really hasnt been a good Final Fantasy game after IX. Even X was borderline..

I do find it amazing that people will stick up for games that go backwards when you look at the past games in the series. It's delusional at best on their part and just make them seem like blind fanatics.

That's good to hear, it's been so long since I heard anything from VS XIII progression.. I would love to see something being shown at this TGS at least.

It's a long time to develop a game, I have yet to enjoy any Final Fantasy after FFX, other then fantastic Crisis Core on PSP.

The first 2 hours of FFXIII-2 is really boring even a bit further than that. Things don't get interesting till you actually have a few different monsters to choose from. I just finished the game last night/this morning. The game is amazing! I could not put the controller down towards the conclusion. I had to replay the ending as well because I wasn't strong enough to beat the final boss and I rewatched all the cutscenes, they are stunning! Seriously you have to give FFXIII-2 another go because even though I think FFXIII is a bunch of meh the sequel has gameplay I feel is better than any FF before it except for FFXII.

It's okay to like crap games, of course it is. If your happy then play away, no one will stop you.

But the fact you like them doesnt make the new Final Fantasy games good, does it. No, far from it. They just seem to be a sorry excuse to what the series used to be. And that my good man is a sore fact thats hard to bare for some..
