Square Enix next MMO skipping the PS3?

I know that before MMO games weren't as popular due to the time-sink and content that wasn't offer to casual gamers. But ever since World of Warcraft I believe more people have fallen prey to MMOG addiction. Hiromichi Tanaka who works on Final Fantasy XI for Square Enix has said that the company is developing another MMORPG for the Xbox 360 and Vista. He later on said that the Playstation 3 is a possibility, but the online network for the system could make it complicated. So far rumor has it that the game might take place in Vana'diel again, or one of the polymorphic franchises Square Enix has(Ivalice Alliance, Fabula Nova Crystallis, or the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII).

Sad if they don't make it on PS3 ... but ... I'll have a better pc than my PS3 when it will be out. So i'll play on pc like i did with FFXI

I agree MMORPGs are the most horriable thin invented... I can't stand them and WOW just made everything worst damn you blizzard....

kinda sad since ffxi was my favorite mmo. but if they dont like the psn couldnt they just continue to use the playonline service?

Agreed.  God I played WoW for a month or so and I mean if you wanna give up your life to mindlessly levelng up a character to which there is no end to..............then go for it.  I'll pass ty very much

Wow, I love MMO's I don't know how people can hate them, they're fun and addicting and last for a long time. I don't know why they would make it for 360 and Vista and not PS3. That in my opinion is stupid.

IMO MMOS dont do well on consels so I dont really have an opinion on this.

Its all about personal taste, if you want PS3 to succeed without doubt then MMO's are more popular than you would like to see. I understand you dont like them but you dont have to buy them yourself. Its in sonys interest to take MMOs on board as the potential in sales is massive, the population on games like wow paying monthly subs is a big part of the market now, why should other people who enjoy them be deprived cos a few hate them. I like all games and its more about their individual structure and gameplay to each. Not about whether its rpg, MMo of FPS. You go and play dragon quest and leave the rest to the games they enjoy

I went through an MMO phase during college when I blitzed EverQuest, Dark Age of Camelot, and Shadowbane, but then I woke up and realized how boring it was and that I was spending more time on guild forums than I was in the game.
