If I don't use for a while then i turn it off at the back but I leave it in both...i don't see how stanby overheats your ps3,it turns off all the systems preety much:?kazamadevil
i thot standby just leaves the internet on or something... like the Wii..
Always Stand-by.
Thats what its made for.
Stand-By does not overheat your console at all.
my ps3 is cold as if i never even turned it on after a few hours on standby.

standby does not use the internet.
It depends. If Im watchin a dvd in bed at night I just stick it on standby and go to sleep.
If I'm using it through the day for gaming I'll turn it off at the switch.
VinnoT
well if im playing from bed ill also leave it in standby =P
Stand-By, my reasons being:
1) I'm too lazy to go over to it and turn off the switch.
2) I wouldn't be able to get playing as fast whenever I get in the mood to play.
3) It's a habit from doing it on the PS2 since it's launch way back when.
4) My finally reason being, it tells me too in my sleep and if not it will kill my family :|. I think my PS3 has issues, but as long as I don't get on it's bad side it seems to take things in stride...except whn the power goes out, that makes it VERY angry.

It's almost disturbing isn't it. However I must say that I do not have that connection with either of the other consoles of this gen. I knew they wouldn't know me like another Sony console :P.
