Star Ocean 4 PS3 to Ship Simultaneously Worldwide

Star Ocean: The Last Hope for PS3 is coming to the West day and date with the Japanese version, arriving onFeburary 9th 2010.

The title was announced for Japan last week and has now officially been announced for the West, launching simultaneously on the same day as the Japanese release.

ThePS3 version is already confirmed to have dual Japanese and English audio packed onto the Blu-Ray disc as well as extra options and scenarios over the 360 version.

Would be nice to finally play a RPG on my PS3, and I enjoyed all the other SO games.

Cool, this should help quench the thirst of many PS3 owners wanting a good rpg. I'm also glad to see the extra space of the Blu-ray being used. :)

Wow. That is AWESOME news! I still might buy the Japanese version since I have easier access to it, but it's still nice to know I can buy the English version as well. I'll only buy the English version if it's significantly cheaper than the Japanese version. Cool news for sure.

I always said that this game would make its way to the PS3, which is exactly why I skipped on checking it out on the 360.

This kind of blows my 360 purchase our the window. First Tales of Vesperia and now this. I barely need the other system now. If I would have known it would come to PS3 I would have saved my money. The tables sure have turned. Fanboys were laughing it up 2 years ago about Sony losing exclusives but now MS is losing a lot of exclusivity. I am aware that I am sounding like a fanboy by saying all of this, but the truth is the truth. The PS3 doesn't lose 3rd party exclusives that it already has out on the system like Disgaea 3, Valkyria Chronicles, Folklore, MGS 4, Ridge Racer 7, but the 360 does.

All MS really has is PC support basically Left4Dead, Mass Effect, Alan Wake, Splinter Cell, and a few others.

Anyway it's cool that RPG's are coming to PS3 and that new ones will be out soon as well.

Sometimes its better to wait for a game to be released after the other version was released. That way we get better graphics, more material ( languages ), more characters, more levels, more bosses etc :P !

It only makes sense. Japanese developers have nothing to gain from keeping their games exclusive to the console that's selling the worst in their homeland. I personally quit liking JRPGs in the PS2 era (I prefer interactive over cinematic). It's still great news for PS3 owners who want this, though.

Good news. I'm playing this for 360 right now and I love it, and would have considered importing the Japanese version if there was English text and if there was enough extra content but now I won't have worry about importing it anymore. Now it'll just depend on how much they add to it.

I hate to fart on everyone's ice cream, but I thought this game was terrible. Not nearly as fun as Til the End of the Time and the characters are near unbearable - from the five year old who says "kay" at the end of every sentence "something stinks, kay?", "i'm irritating, kay?", "my parents should have had an abortion, kay?" to the main character..our savior..who throws a bloody temper tantrum in the middle of the game and walks around in a funk as you desperately wish you could reach out and strangle him...I was actually groaning everytime a new character came along. Combat also isn't nearly as fluid and action packed as the last game...Maybe the story would have been okay, but I was too busy hoping everyone in the game not named Reimi would die a horrifying death to notice.

speaking of which..Tales of Vesparia kicks ass. My personal GotY last year, so I hope those of you without a 360 get a chance to play it. Charming characters and highly entertaining combat. If it comes out on PS3, I'd buy it again, just to support it.

Now Fable 2 is the only 360 exclusive that I'm interested in. Good job Sony
