I've heard rumors about the new SC2 going to consoles. And although BLIZZARD is mainly a PC only type company, I wouldn't rule out this rumor. For one Both the PS3 and XBOX can have both a keyboard and mouse hooked up to them (duh). But also the fact that many PC gamers are switching to consoles (exception for WoW). And this is not just my opinion either, one example: games like Unreal Tournament, which use to be mainly on the PC, sold around 86,650 on the PC, and around 115,000 on the PS3. Gears of War also sold about 4 times more copies on the XBOX 360 than on the PC. I for one would love to be able to play SC2 on my PS3 (my computer sucks :().

So if you had a choice to buy SC2 for either your PC or PS3, which would you choose?

First off, PC gamers are not switching to consoles, if anything it is growing.

Secondly, PC gamers did not buy UT3 because, well it was a total disappointment, and there were other games worth buying. Such as The Witcher, Crysis, Call of Duty 4 and whole bunch of other games. Same with Gears of War, only reason that sold so great on the 360 was because there was nothing else worth owning for the 360 at the time besides Rainbow Six Vegas, but it wasn't marketed as well as Gears.

Third, Blizzard is not going to develop for consoles. Do PS3 owners even have an interest in an RTS? In any case, Blizzard is not going to port a game because it destroys the quality. I'm not sure if you've noticed, but Blizzard takes pride in the quality of their games. If it is not a AAA-level game, they will cancel it if they have to. With that being said, they would have to develop from the ground up on the PS3 and considering how much time Blizzard puts into their games, the PS4 would be released.

I'd buy it for the PS3, simply because I've never been much of a PC gamer and as such my PC is getting a little out-dated :'(

Well first of all, Consoles always sold out more then PC, PC isn't as much a mainstream gaming system as they want to amke you believe (like for one good title on the PC you get 2 - 3 or 4 times more valuable games on consoles), also if you take in consideration the price of a console and the price of a high end computer you have to multiply by 4 the price of the console. ANd even sometimes with high end PC you don't get the performances you should (EQ2, NwN 2 as examples).

Also, Blizzard is such a over rated compagny, Diablo is one of the lamest RPG IP, Starcraft/warcraft are one of the easiest/lamest RTS, WoW being one of the lamest MMORPG. How do they achieve such success? I wonder but then again, peoples like friendly user games so you don't need to look too far to see their success either. And no I don't plan to buy SC2 either for Pc or Ps3, I have better games to spend my time on.

Oh I see.

So PC gamers didn't buy UT3 because they were too busy buying Crysis?

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=177667

Is that why Crysis did so poorly, too?

Doesn't make any sense.

*laughs* possible, but A : Diablo, there are loads of better RPGs out there I don't think I need to name even one. B : WarCraft/StarCraft, I own Shogun Total War, Medieval II Total War, Rome II Total War and Civ 4, any of these games boast better playability (at least to me) and are the best RTS available. WoW, an EQ and Dark Age of Camelot clone/hybrid/ what you want. They just pushes those last 2 games to the limit of boredom. Played while in beta and found out it was same ol' same ol' and didn't cared about a game that had me killing baby frog 20 times so I could kill child frog 50 times and then move on to teen frog so on so forth untill I reach that same version of froggie but in epic proportion. I'd rather play FF IV with a friend instead.

I'm not denying anything, I've seen the light (better quality games) while peeps comtemplate the false saviour that represent Blizzard :P

I wasn't saying that Blizzard is the God company of all games. I myself dislike Diablo II and WoW. I just believe that SC2 is going to be a good game, and should be muti-platform. In truth, I think all good games should be multi-platform and not console or PC specific. Especially a game that takes years to make (such as SC2), and I think the game creators would like everybody to play their creation, not just people with high-end PCs.

I would buy the PS3 version. But i don't see it happening.

This is old but in the SC2 FAQ it says:

Will there be a console version of StarCraft II?

StarCraft II is being developed for the PC. We have no current plans to bring the game to any console platform.

I hate RTS on consoles. They never work for me.

I tried starcraft for N64, and it just didn't feel right. Especially the more-involved gamers won't be able to macro or manage things quickly with their keyboards. :(

Diablo is not really in the RPG category, I would put it in the dungeon crawler category, as it is nothing like FF or Elder Scrolls, and it is THE dungeon crawler. Warcraft/Starcraft are THE RTS games. WoW is now THE MMORPG. Here's what you should realize, just because YOU don't see them as good games, doesn't change that most people do. Starcraft is still by far the best multiplayer RTS out there, and WoW is probably the most successful game of all time considering it has monthly fees. Diablo defined the genre it's in, as did Warcraft, then Starcraft. WoW may copy a lot from other MMOs, but Blizzard perfected the system to the point that 10+ million people pay to play it every month by making it more casual friendly but still retaining the hardcore elements.

Your credibility is lost in your post just by the way you are comparing the games. You would rather play a single player RPG (yes, a great one, but still single player) with a friend than a game where you can both play. That's a horrible comparison, as the whole point of MMORPGs was to make RPGs multiplayer (if you meant FFXI, then I just laugh at you, because WoW has problems, but FFXI has at least 10x more). You also compare all those RTS games to Starcraft/Warcraft and earlier you said Starcraft/Warcraft are the easiest. If you are seriously comparing the single player of Blizzard RTS games to others, you have NO idea what made Starcraft so great, and if you took the time to understand the story of Warcraft you would realize what makes WC2/3 so great. Warcraft 2 and Starcraft both came out well before any of the RTS games you mentioned (SC just a couple before Shogun), so I would say you will have to wait to see how SC2 is before making a judgement based on an older game. That's like saying Super Mario Bros. sucks because there were only three mario forms, little, big and fire.

As for WoW, if you don't like it, that's understandable, but if you don't like it, that means you probably don't like any MMORPGs, because it pretty much encompassed all the best parts of any that came before it in the fantasy genre. There are way too many people that bash WoW nowadays...after they play it for a year or so. I always find that stupid, because if you play a game for over a year, or however long, it did what it was supposed to do and a lot more. I think the reason most people end up hating the game after they quit is because they quit due to being burnt out. I have to ask that person, though, how long did you enjoy the game before being burnt out. No one can play the game for a 7 day trial, or however long it is, and make a just decision on the game. They may not enjoy it, but that does not mean they have the information available to say if the game is good or not, and the same goes for all MMOs. I know this sounds like I'm saying no one can say they actually don't like the game, but what I'm getting at is that no one can say the game was not well made without sounding ignorant.

If you don't like the Blizzard games, that's your opinion and I will not knock you for that. However, making ignorant comments about how Blizzard sucks and all their games are crap and making stupid statements which make it fairly clear you either didn't play the games or spent about 15 min on them 5-15 years after they were released just so you could make an "informed" opinion. The only thing I will say about that is, at least you aren't the only person that does this, a lot of people that WANT to dislike a game do exactly the same thing.
