Still Buying?

Word on the boards is Assassins Creed is a dissapointment. I am never one to read too much into reviews, but i am dissapointed it isnt being praised. However I will still buy it and and see for myself, and I think it would have to be REALLY bad for me not to enjoy it, which it obviously isn't (really bad)

Who else is with me? And who jumped off the bandwagon and why?

Hmmm I'm wary of the ign review just because in the title it mentions "living up to hype". I don't like when reviews reference hype in anyway because then it shows that the reviewer let him or herself open to expectations (some of which may be unrealistic). Reviewers should go into a review with a completely open mind and view any game without any expectations.ajefferism

I agree. The only think I would of stated about this game being bad was how the AI appears brainless and how the AI wont gang up on you, as in only 1 on 1 fights. I haven't played the game but from the reviews I've seen and videos this is the only real flaw I can see. Maybe even lack of combat options, however I wouldn't know until I get my copy whenever it gets here.

I'm not choosing to not buy it solely based on the reviews, but rather b/c the reviews confirmed the one fear I had about this game to begin with... and that was its repetitive nature. Pretty much every review has said that even though it starts off fun, the gameplay quickly wears thin.

I read two other reviews before watching the IGN video review. But at the end of that, they suggest renting the game vs. buying it b/c you may not even feel like finishing the game, yet alone actually playing it again. So renting sounds like a better idea to me now.

Plus for me, I was having to decide which to buy first b/w this and Uncharted. And after playing the demo of Uncharted & going through the first few reviews of AC... Uncharted is the easy win for me. Just my gaming taste tho...

I cancelled my pre-order a few days ago now... Im getting Ratchet 7 Clank instead tomorrow... plus, if I was going to get AC, it would be the week before Super Mario Galaxy comes out, so I won't have much time to play AC anyways...hrt_rulz01

Ratchet & Clank is awesome, you defnitely won't be dissapointed with that one! Possible the best platformer I've ever played.
